Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Debbie, she has been faithful Lord, her love for You and her trust in You and her desire to see Your promises come true in her life has been so strong. We come to You at this time to lift up our dear sister Debbie to you, for she is struggling, Lord, she has been deserted by her husband and is terribly wounded by his addictions taking precedence in his life over his responsibilities to his family.
Please uplift Debbie with your presence Lord, and a sure knowledge of Your provision in her life, and the life of her son, during this absence of Donnie. Allow Debbie to take new steps into the mystery of Your inexhaustible love and care. May Debbie experience the joy of little things in life while this overwhelming concern weighs on her heart and tugs constantly at her attention. Draw her eyes to You, Lord, and let her count her blessings, too, in this time of deep grieving and anxiety.
We pray also for Tyler at this time, for this little boy who needs his daddy and wants his daddy to come home so he can feel safe. We pray for Tyler that he not be hardened in his heart toward his father for abandoning him; help Tyler understand that his daddy is sick and needs help. Let him know it is not his fault.
Lord we also lift op Donnie to you, we pray that he hits bottom soon, now Lord, let it be now, let today be the day that Donnie wakes up to the fact that he is making a huge mistake by playing Russian roulette with his life. Whatever pain is driving his running, whatever he seeks to escape, let him seek recovery rather than trying to bury under an avalanche of feel good fair weather friends who are in self-destructive rebellion against Your goodness and mercy and long suffering and grace. The drugs and alcohol they offer are no substitute for You Lord, but misery loves company and Satan wants to put Your people into the ground before they can come to know You. Please do not allow this to happen to Donnie. Allow Donnie to hear the inner voice of love. Draw him to You Lord, that he may come to believe in Your goodness, grace, mercy, and love, and his need of repentance. Allow Donnie to develop his identity as a child of God, that he may walk uprightly to claim his mission of Godly responsibility in the world.
In Jesus name we pray, amen.
