This subforum is for any cooking/household/cleaning tips you might want to share/discuss.
Here are a few cooking tips --
1. Add a pinch of baking soda, to brewed tea, to take out the bitterness of the tea.
2. To keep peeled apples from browning, use sprite or 7up!
3. To rid garlic/onion smell on fingers - rub wet hands on stainless steel sink.
4. Peeling hard boiled eggs--Boil them with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. When it's time to peel they slide right off. Reasoning is the shells are porous and they absorb the oil which makes a layer between the shell and the boiled egg.
5. For camping adventures, you can freeze raw eggs, just not in shell.
6. Don't store onions where you store your potatoes.
p.s. I also read this week.....if you don't use the whole onion, don't keep in frig for later use; its toxic--throw any unused onion out.
Also read that eating asparagus--helps those who are fighting cancer.
