Jesus says, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
What would I want someone to do for me if I was entrapped in a web of chaos, loneliness, despair, illness, seduction, idolatry, anxiety or unforgiveness? If I was a victim and prisoner of the principalities and dark rulers of this world? I can tell you the most significant times in my walk in the Lord have been when genuine godly friends of Christ, being boldly honest with me with the Word made my eyes open and I found deliverance from the things of this world.
A true friend would not appease you and let you sink into the mire because they don’t want to be thought of as stern or unpopular or too holy. My truest friends were those who were honest and brave and who shook me out of darkness, snatched me out of blindness by boldly speaking the truth of God, who loved me enough to offer me real help in my time of need and in ungodly confusion. Praise God for those faithful loving friends who did not allow me to be overcome by the work of the enemy. Praise God!!! \/
Idolatry is epidemic in this world and in these last days it is almost impossible to see the enemy at work because our eyes are focused on the flesh and feelings and circumstances, all temporary things. People are too concerned about how they look and don’t want to rock the boat. But Jesus still reigns and still delivers us from the hand of the adversary by His Word of Truth through His faithful followers. Jesus will not let us fall captive and will use His godly people to warn us of the attacks of the enemy. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus for Your faithfulness and love in setting us free!! Thank you for building up a holy people who will speak the Truth on Your behalf!
Will we listen to the Savior Jesus so that we will offer His way of escape to those around us in dire need? Or will we be offended at His Word and allow our friends and family to be overcome by the devil because we don’t want to be judged as too stern? I pray the Lord deliver us from the hand of the enemy and the lies that seek to hold us captive to destroy us. In Jesus’ Holy and righteous name, may we be set free to have abundant life in Him! We repent of idolatry and fear and doubt, Lord Jesus!!
Remember, when we are face-to-face with the King of Kings, the Lord is going to say to us, "When you did it to the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me.” What will we answer? “I died to my pride and my flesh and told them the Truth, Lord Jesus for Your sake.” Or will we say, “I was too afraid to tell them the Truth, Lord because I didn’t want to look unpopular or holier-than-thou.”
We need to be faithful friends who genuinely love others with Agape love and won’t let the enemy rule them or their families' lives! Do we love one another enough to be that kind of friend? To show one another the Cross of Jesus so that the wolf in sheep’s clothing won’t steal, kill and destroy us and our families? Or are we more concerned with giving each other temporary feelings of happiness in the web of lies that the devil seeks to keep us in?
There is no hope in feelings of temporary excitement in friendship with the world. Either the Word of God in Christ Jesus crucified is offensive, foolish and inconvenient… or it is Light and Life to us! May the Lord reign forever in our lives!
