C
No peace, no nothing but what comes from Christ:
He and He alone will heart call home;
Only He will heal the heart most lone.
No peace but Christ, or hail befallen life.
No peace without the guide of gospel tongue:
The call to self-efface, bear thorns and nails
In name of love, for love, is highest hail.
No peace, but preach of God Whom man becomes.
No life to live but to live a sainted life.
Listen, silent, for the call, the Word,
Heard in deepest depths of heart's delight,
And know the fullness of the call to turn
From self and sin, and all that puts self first,
To Christ alone, Who slakes the spirit's thirst.
He and He alone will heart call home;
