A big book now is 'Not A Fan'. It's the latest craze in American Christianity. I guess the main idea is that we're not just fans of Jesus and such.
What I find troubling is that Not A Fan, sells gear/merchandise, so we can tell everyone how much a fan we are of not being a fan.
It's ironic on one hand and troubling on the other. Because for some reason it's like we always have to merchandise our 'Jesus' stuff.
If this thing is about not being a fan, then should we really sell gear just like they do for fans of sports teams, celebrities and such? It seems self defeating to proclaim how you're not a fan, by wearing shirts that proclaim you are a fan of not being fan.
