Yes, one would think SS is not an entitlement program because we are lead to believe you pay it up like a big savings account, but that's not the way it works. Especially due to it being everyone's favorite slushy fund.

Sorry, for the 2nd time. I edited my original posting of this thread quickly & said," Sorry I meant this to be in the news section." I cannot move the thread.
If social security no longer pays out to those who earned it by paying for it, then the elderly & disabled workers who have a mortgage, will lose their homes. I realize this does not concern some people, by their postings. The politicians on both sides are calling it an entitlement.
Why not cut off REAL entitlements of federal $$ given to the states for welfare, to people who have never paid a cent in taxes, never worked a day in their life, & whose main goal in life is to live off the govt? These young, healthy people deserve a free cell phone too? Obamaphones!!! lol.With like 300 minutes free, for life evidently, paid for by the feds.
Why doesn't Obama stop giving 2 Billion dollars a year to Egypt's Muslim brotherhood, the Jihadist, (war),branch of Islam? (he's done this since his 1st yr in office). Why keep sending this money to foreign coiuntries?
I guess Mom & Dad & grandpa & grandma will be moving in with their kids & grandkids in the future. Maybe they will just have to sell their homes & take the profit & rent someplace for a couple years, it won't last long.
Most people who file bankruptcy, do so because medical bills got them behind on their house payment, even if you have health insurance. A few years ago, my husband & I each had insurance on ourselves & each other, through our employers. We had 2 insurance policies, costing us several hundred $ a month, but had to pay $5,000 also, for our share of medical expenses that year alone. This is the main reason the elderly lose their homes now. A friend of mine just lost her home after her husband died of cancer, due to paying medical bills she was being threatened with.
For anyone to suggest that social security is an unearned entitlement & should be done away with, knows nothing of the hardship put on the elderly who paid into it. It seems one would look into saving $ elsewhere. These ss checks have no effect on the federal deficit & are not funded by income taxes.
The fiscal cliff bill that was just signed a few weeks ago had billions of $ in it for Hollywood & a bunch of other BS groups who don't need the $ to begin with.
I believe it is Obama's goal to intentionally destroy/crash the economy of the U.S. He will succeed. It may not happen during his presidency, maybe it won't happen til the next one takes office. If you don't believe this, look at how much money he spent in his time as pres= He spent more than all the presidents combined from Washington through Bush. Now look at who he's been giving it to, & who he's taking it away from. Looking at the facts you'd think he was stupid, but he's not stupid, it's done on purpose.
The best thing that would have helped our economy would have been if Bush, then Obama even more $, would not have bailed out the banks & credit card companies. Millions of people would have been out of debt!!! The middle class & poor would have owned their home outright, with no more mortgage payments & no credit card companies. It would not have cost the feds nearly as much money for the federally protected $ in checking & savings acct at the failed banks. The rich would have lost a bunch of money because only a small percent of their $ was federally protected in those banks ($300,000?). The smaller banks would have gotten bigger, & now millions would not need credit, since they had no mortgage or credit card payments, & possibly no car payment. The object of the game is to keep the rich rich, & get the middle class to be poorer.
With no bail out of banks & credit card companies, the middle class would have started more businesses employing people, paying more taxes & social security, people would have paid off their student loans, bought new cars, & spent more $ as a stimulus for the economy.

You have no reason to apologize... it was a simple mistake that should have been overlooked entirely. I see that you have excellent eyes for what is going on inth socio-economic-political sphere. My concern is that there is a spirit of fear attached to your vision and causing distress for you about YOUR future? I do wish to encourage you to keep your eyes on HIM that he has you in the palm of his hand. IN terms of the general picture... I think a social crisis that causes "families" to start behaving like families and caring for each other vs. the everybody out for themselves society the US has become... well I just think that would be a good thing. THe bible does have a promise... "You and your HOUSEHOLD will be saved"... does that put things in a different perspective?

tribesman... since some of us live in America, it is appropriate to be discussion the socio-polical climate here. Christians are commanded to be in the in the world... NOT of it. Since the location we live in is the USA, we need to be informed of regarding policy... what is being discussed has NOThing to do with POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Being a Politically Correct American and an American CHristian are not the same... in fact the two are oppositional.
