Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Which master do you want to serve, Dan? God gives us a choice. And, He also tells us explicitly, we cannot serve two masters. We will love the one and hate the other, I think Scripture here says.
But, YOU are forgiven, the cross sealed the DEAL. Don'T EVER think that Jesus' dying on the cross was all for naught, He died for your sins. Now, granted, Christ's grace given us by His Son dying on the cross, is not a license to sin. No, Paul says, 'God forbid!' But, we all err and we are all forgiven by the cross, your past sins, your present sins, your future sins, all covered by His shed blood which was given man, whom God hated until He propitiated our sins by Him (Read Zechariah, we WERE enemies of God) .
Take care, my friend, not easy to accept Christ's forgiveness, but you go to the cross and give it ALL to Him, surrender all, I suggest listening to Cee Cee Winan's great song, "I Surrender All,' and just let the tears flow and slowly, or quickly, repent and do not go sin no more, that is what He told Mary of Magdalene, the prostitute and He is telling YOU (and your girl) the same thing, because God is the same today, as yesterday, as forevermore, Scripture tells us.
God bless you, Dan. YOU are His man, like that one who pleased God, was after His own heart, just like DAVID , and, to think, you and he, only three letters different, too. Dan be a David, get on your knees, sackcloth and ashes, ACCEPT Christ's Holy Spirit leading and He will lead you, get up and then go when God's answer is done, just like God answered David, for His putting Uriah on the front lines, God is just, He will get you through. I know, He has got me through many times in life. The Lord leads. '...you follow Me.' John 21:22
