I read part of this in a booklet called "a Secret Place", and also a Bible verse.
" Let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise" (Hebrews 13;15) When is praising God a sacrifice?
Dear Brothers and Sisters, please pray for all of those who have lost their spouse. Their are many people now well over 65. As our generation ages, there will be more and more of us who will lose the loves of our life. I have been with my wife for over 36 years, I can not imagine what faith and courage it would take to continue living without her.
There are people who have been together much longer than myself, 50, 60, 75 years perhaps even more, essentially grown up together, spent their lives loving each other and serving God together.
I can't imagine someone who has lost someone they have spent their lives with praising God. Rather they might ask how could God let this happen? How could I praise God at a time like that?
I realize that in this terribly painful , lonely, frightening time it would only be through supernatural faith and strength through God that we could even begin to make the sacrifice of praising God for accepting our loved one in heaven while denying us their presence here with us.
This would no doubt be the greatest sacrifice we could give to God, to give Him praise for what was His plan for our loved one and us when it involves such agony for us. Yet , to continue living as God wishes, we must admit that God's way is best -- not something to accept begrudgingly but to embrace with praise. This praise is indeed sacrificial!
Dear Father in Heaven, please give strength and comfort to all of your children you must separate after a lifetime together and allow them to continue your work until You call them to join You and the other love of their life in heaven. This I ask in Jesus Holy Name, Amen.
May God pour out His richest blessings of comfort and faith allowing His children in their most trying time to continue on in His Holy Spirit until He calls them home too, in Jesus Christ, amen.
Love in our Blessed Savior
