I lost my job a few months ago and have been having a hard time finding work. Finances are starting to get low. I trust that the Lord will provide, but would still like some prayers that the doors to employment will open up! Thanks!
Hello shlee23,
I can absolutely relate to what you going through, for I am in the very same situation. Because of company restructuring, my company that I worked at for nine years let three of us go on July 31, outsourcing our positions to the Philippines and India. At that time I remembered the scripture which says to count all hardships as testing from the Lord and so I knew that this was going to be a testing of my faith and I began to pray about every day, multiple times per day. We have to remember that, there is nothing in all creation that is hidden from God. All things are laid bare and open before him and even the very hairs of our heads are all numbered. So he knows exactly what is going on and allowed us to be put in that situation. Jesus also said that we can't increase our height or make one hair white or black by worrying about whatever it is that we are going through.
Sometimes in order to test our faith, God puts us in the pressure cooker so that we will completely trust in him. Knowing these things, I determined from the very beginning not to worry, to fret or pace the floor because of them and that because worrying doesn't change anything. Jesus also said that, our heavenly Father knows of the things that we need before we ask him. Suffice to say, none of us have gone through what our Lord went through to pay the penalty for our sins and scripture states that if we are heirs with Christ, then we will also share in his sufferings. That being said, I continue to pray about it and look for his miracle, but I have left it in God's hands, because he knows what's going on and he knows the out-come.
If by his word he can keep all of the galaxies and their stars in their orbits and control everything else that is going on in the universe, then I'm pretty sure that he can take care of our problems. Consider what Jesus said regarding Paul saying, "He is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my names sake." As believers, we must also be prepared to go through hardships, persecution and even death for his name sake and for the word of God.
Since I am in the same situation and you are my sister in Christ, I will also keep you in my prayers, as I am still waiting for God's fulfillment regarding my situation as well. Just keep having faith and expect God's answer to your prayer knowing that he knows exactly what your situation is.
