Cobus suggested that he did not believe people still received Psalms today. For me, this means he does not believe that the Holy Spirit "still inspires" believers to write Hymns of Praise to God today. I strongly disagree, and as evidenced by the many, many Praise Hymns/Poems here on CC, it is not even open to argument that the Holy Spirit DOES in fact, STILL inspire some believers to write Hymns of Praise today.
Let us be sure that we understand what a "psalm" is:
(from dictionary.com)
[h=2]psalm[/h] /sɑm/ Show Spelled [sahm] Show IPA noun 1. a sacred song or hymn.
2. ( initial capital letter ) any of the songs, hymns, or prayers contained in the Book of Psalms.
3. a metric version or paraphrase of any of these.
4. a poem of a similar nature.

Origin:
before 900; Middle English psalm ( e ), s ( e ) alm ( e ), psame, Old English ps ( e ) alm, sealm < Late Latin psalmus < Greek psalmós song sung to the harp, orig., a plucking, as of strings, akin to psállein to pluck, pull, play (the harp)
Now that we understand what a Psalm is, let me also add that I DO NOT assert that my Hymns of Praise are "as worthy," or "more worthy" of any others posted here, and certainly not "as worthy," or "more worthy" than those Hymns of Praise contained in the Book of Psalms in the Holy Bible.
I have read many of the praise offerings here on CC, and I am fully convinced that the Holy Spirit surely inspired these writings.......thus the position of Cobus does not have the "ring of truth" in my opinion.
God bless you each and every one!
