Remember the saying, life is what you make of it? This profound quote is also meant to remind you that life isn't what other people make it. That you have power of perception(To be the pessimist or the optimist), the power of choice(passive or active), the power of emotion(self taught with God's help), etc. When people say freedom is a lie because everything is corrupt and set up, it is for them. True freedom is to allow your heart to be free. That's how Karla Faye Tucker, a lady who got the death sentence, maintained her sanity, built her relationship with God, touched millions of lives, and felt immense joy even within the confinces of the Texas prison! Because life truly is what you make of it and God is always right there with you!
I've been through many life or death situations, had a friend commit suicide, almost lost my sister twice and now again, been called a delusional psychopath who believes in sky fairies, etc. A good relationship with God, good music, and good encounters can fill you with hope and motivate you. It can also remind you that you're not alone. Nobody has it easy! You can always be like MLK or many of the people who've been bullied and stand up for yourself and others who face the same problems you were forced to! Besides they're not really problems, they're obsticles! Problems need a solution when there isn't always one present. Obsticles can be overcome!
