I am writing this to GLORIFY GOD, EDIFY OTHERS and CORRECT MYSELF.
I was talking with my mentor and I mentioned this thread; she agrees that SELF-ESTEEM is of the devil. After I told her what I posted, she told me that what I was talking about was not ESTEEM, but CONFIDENCE. I feel what all the responders to Ramon's OP,INCLUDING MYSELF, have MIS-USED the words SELF-ESTEEM. I am 29, and I was taught all through school that SELF-ESTEEM and SELF-CONFIDENCE were one in the same. After talking with my mentor (who is in her 60's) that even SELF-CONFIDENCE can be bad, truly anything with SELF as the prefix must be examined. When I said "I do not believe one can truly have a good self-esteem without Jesus in there lives..." I MIS-SPOKE the truth is that no one can have "good" SELF-ESTEEM. We SHOULD only have CONFIDENCE, not in ourselves but in what God does in us and through us.
Thanks Ramon and God bless all those who have read and/or replied.
