A subject has arisen in CC chat over the last few weeks that has compelled me to write this. Infact, I cant believe this subject even needs to be addressed because its simple bible study. Its not in depth like where did Cain's wife come from or was there really a 6 day creation. It is the scripture " if your brother or sister offends you then go to them..."....seems simple right? If someone offends you then go talk to them, tell them your hurt and resolve the issue. Offense is a personal thing. Some people get offended over the slightest thing, others get offended over serious things, its very personal and usually comes from unhealed areas in a person's spirit. One person can take a joke, another feels extremely hurt over the same thing due to previous experiences. Everyone is different.
Here is where the issue lies. Two people are talking and someone listening gets offended how one person talks to another BUT both the people chatting to each other are not hurt or offended. Does it say in the bible " if you hear someone talking to another and it offends you on behalf of someone else go talk to them? "....no it doesn't! BOUNDARIES are there for a reason. Crossing those boundaries cause problems that do not exist. You CANNOT step into some one else's shoes and try and make your offense theirs. You cannot try and control other people around you....when it is not being personal to you...and try and make them apologize for an offense that does not exist.
Everyone is different. People get offended by different things and people need to respect those differences. Crossing those boundaries is showing a lack of respect for other people. If your brother or sisters offends YOU go ahead......bring unity.......but if its nothing to do with you please be respectful not not everyone is as easily offended as you are.
