I was scrambling eggs with cheddar cheese this morning, smiling to myself, remembering the first time I tried it maaaaaaaaaaaaaaany years ago. I put the cheese in way too soon and it was a big gloppy mess back then.
So what was the worst thing you ever made or cooked?
Some of mine:
- I made a cherry cheesecake for a guy because he said it was his favorite dessert. I got the recipe off of the Philly Cheese box. I don't know what I did wrong, but it was AWFUL!!!
My dad had retired from the military and we were living on a farm for a couple of years. The chickens wouldn't even eat it!
- Learning to make great milk gravy is a badge of honor for a GRITS (girl raised in the South ). The first time I made milk gravy it was SO thick that a spoon I stuck in there stood up straight for 4 HOURS.
- I used self-rising flour in my mom's best sweet pancake/waffle batter recipe. They made great doorstops.
