Thank you for praying Depleted and yes it is kind of like what student teachers do, yes kind of like teaching practise. As a Physician Associate student (Physician Assistant US) I am currently in Uni four days a week and one day a week on placement in a hospital department or in a GP practice, learning to do certain procedures, like inserting cannula, taking blood etc. This year it is predominately getting a feel for the different departments. On Tuesday I was ment to be in A and E, taking histories, poss taking blood helping where I could under the direction of the doctors. Next year I am on placement five days a week, every three weeks I am back in uni for one day. Before I can take a National exam I have to complete 1600 hours of placements and have certain skills signed off.
It is amazing how God works things out. Another student on my course was ment to be in the Gastro department (endoscopy) the consultants wasn't in and so had nothing to do so in the end he went down and worked in A and E with the person I was ment to be doing the placement with. I will get the change to do A and E in a couple of weeks time again.
Also praise God my cough and cold is improving. I was back in Uni today, learning more critical care medicine and practicing putting in different airways.
