Church - gay - how do i fit in?

Im not in peoples face about it. I'm Respectful that not everyone will support me. I have a lot of friends out side of church but I'm not being accepted in the the christian circles of people my age. I want to be apart of a church and follow god the best i can but I'm finding it too hard and haven't been to church now in 4 months.

Do most churches still want to reject gay people biased purely on there sexuality? I personally believe god loves me as i am and jesus would never reject me so why do churchs?

There are so many worldly people till this very day. Obedience is a learned thing of this world Love God's type as in 1 Cor 13 is awesome, Just seek this type of Love from God through Christ and in light of getting to know Christ personally you willdecide in you whatever is right between God and you

See LOVE God's type loves all and in his day was rejected by the legalists, so when someone rejects you it is on them that they rejected you. The only time Iever get mad at anyone is when they take anothers free will away. It is by ones free will that they are either saved by beleif or not, If they are accepted by God because they just desire to know God God does reveal himself to those that have no other motive but to know him. And God knows who these are and who these are not.
Sorry that you were not accepted by these Church goers that apparently by this fruit revealed to you that they are better have not in my opinion repented. God has shown me that he loves me and has forgiven me 100%. So in light of that I by free choice changed to be a responder to this type of love and forgiveness, in thankfulness and learned thus changed in me between God and me.

This is a tough topic and one that I struggle to find a "happy medium" with. Unfortunately I don't think there is a happy medium because either you live your life apart from God and doing things promoted by the world or you choose to live your life for God and reject the ways of the world. God would rather we were hot or cold and not lukewarm (Rev 3:15 & 16)

I try to put myself in the shoes of a gay person. When I do I try to think of how I would be viewed by the church and my own view on my lifestyle and sexual orientation. First of all I would tell myself "why would God make me gay if it is wrong?" - The answer is that he DIDN'T make you gay, the world did. This brings up the argument of whether we are born gay or if it is a choice. While I personally think its neither, I do believe that we are influenced by the repercussions of sin that is passed down from person to person. Because sin exists we sin and we are born to do so.
Then I try to think how gay people feel about being called "sinners" and being compared to those who commit adultery and other sexual sins, as well as being compared to thieves and murderers. It's never an effective comparison! I wouldn't want to be compared to those people, but the fact of the matter is that nobody is perfect and we all do things apart from God. When Jesus talked to tax collectors, drunkards and prostitutes he didn't tell them "Hey, you are who you are and I love you no matter what!" - He most likely told every one of them what he told the adulteress, which was "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." (John 8:11 mentioned above).

The only way you will be healed is if you go ahead in your life and sin no more. However, how can this be done if you don't believe that being gay is a sin? That being said telling somebody "just don't sin anymore" is an impossible task! But this is something you need to bring to God first if you truly trust in Him and His plan for you. Eventually you'll be able to be more comfortable talking to Christians about this. I understand that it is scary being open and honest like that. Christians can be some of the most closed minded and unforgiving people, which is wrong and sad. But don't pretend that they are the ones in the wrong and you're completely innocent. There are always two sides to every story.

So in short (because that message is lengthy and will most likely be skimmed by most of you)
God's word should not have to change to accommodate the times. The Bible is VERY clear on how it stands on homosexuality.
The Church does need help. The leaders need to start talking about being gay in the church and stop being afraid of stepping on somebody's toes. Don't gloss over what the Bible says and pretend like you don't have an opinion! The church NEEDS to address these growing issues.
Analyze what is important in your life. If it is being gay then be gay. If it is to live for God then live for God.
There is no "magic pill" for being gay. You can't "pray away the gay" and expect instant results. If you truly are a man of God then this is your proverbial thorn in your side that you will struggle with. Maybe you will always live a life of singleness and celibacy as a result (no man really wants to hear that) but again, it is your choice how you live your life. Do you love the world or do you love God?
Prayer is important. Never stop. Prayer heals and God is always listening. I will pray for you and that you get the answers you need throughout your life.

I believe if someone has these types of thoughts and doesn't feel they can get rid of them, they should still be allowed to serve, if they have taken a vow of chastity and maintain it, if someone has those types of thoughts its best to stay alone rather then act out in sin, some people think that's. Not fair, but you are not really alone if you are devoted to God, I believe if your devotion is sincere, he will help maintain that vow

I do not believe Jesus would have rejected or hated you because of your sexuality. He did not condemn the woman caught in adultery, but adultery is not a sexual orientation, is it? I personally don't believe a person chooses to be straight or gay. I am extremely skeptical of the so-called anti-gay ministries as I do not believe it is possible to change your sexual orientation. But no matter who you are attracted to, you are not immune to sin.

I felt like a fish out of its water but still I was very close to God. Looking back I see Gods purpose there. I never had homosexual friends nor family ever before this and I honestly didn't understand. God wanted me to see a few things.

In the process I became a very good friends with my manager and I heard his story. I decided very early on that I was not going to judge but I was going to try to understand him. How can I tell someone to change something I've never experienced? His story broke my heart and I had so much compassion and love for this man. Behind his front of homosexual diva was a boy with a big heart inside who longed to be loved. I learned homosexuals live a very promiscuous life in the name of "love". I became so close to him that I even started to believe homosexuality was ok.

But God spoke to me one day and it all changed. He spoke in my spirit and let me know "heaven and hell are very real." We have a choice "serve the devil(or self serve) or serve God." ? We have a choice. There is darkness and there is light and light will never mix with darkness. There was a line drawn before me. Sin is sin and God is holy and sovereign and will never go hand in Hand with sin. God is unmoving and His word is unmoving. We are the ones that give in to desire. From the beginning God told eve not to take that apple and eve had a choice and she took the apple. Now this is where Jesus steps in and redeems us from eves fall and all sin. Accepting Jesus means your accepting him to reign over your heart and surrendering all your sin to him. If the word of God says homosexuality is a sin then it is. Doesn't mean God doesn't love you. No, God loves you so so much but he hates your sin because sin Is what pulls us away from Him.

In this time I did research. A lot of research on homosexuality....

Yes to what you said and what came to mind is anything of sex outside of procreation is sinful and damageing and has been since the begining

God made sex not just for procration but to bind men and women together in marriage, that's its one of the most emotional things god created

Alll of us have sinned. Jesus would treat a homoseuaxual the same way he did the adulterous woman and the woman at the well. What about Xaccheus and Mattehew and Mary Magdalene? Jesus came for those who know they need help

There are many kinds of people in the church. We are all sinners first of all. However, there is a difference in Christians seeking help to repent and be healed from their sins and those who choose to remain non-repentant in the church. I do not know where you belong so I will keep to the point. The Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin clearly because it is outside the boundaries of which God created sexuality and marriage in general. But like Jesus, we are to accept these people too. Christ accepted these people but he also gave them the command to repent of their sins. That is the difference between a lot of churches today. Some people confuse the difference between acceptance and toleration. There is also a difference between those clearly struggling with it and those that choose to live the lifestyle even though they know it is wrong. As Christians in the church, we acknowledge that the church is a hospital for the sinners. However, the medicine sinners need most is to have the love of Christ but also know that as Christians, we are called to repent for our sins. I struggle with homosexuality from time to time because of some events in my past. Eventually, I was showed by God that there are some decent men who do know how to treat a lady. Even later, I was convicted that I needed to change. Again, I'm not sure of YOUR particular circumstances because we are all different. This is just my story. I understand how you feel though.

You are in great sin against, God! Not being bias because you are a homosexual, but you are disobeying His commands, and living a perverted life of lust!

If the lukewarn church was preaching the truth, they would tell you to repent of your sins, and seek the mercy of God, its just not the homosexuals that wont inherit the kingdom of God, but also the adulteters, fornicators, porn watchers, etc..

You wouldnt be allowed in the true church that Jesus built until you truly repented, and started living life as a normal male, not lusting after the same sex, as this is a great abomination against God!

Jesus would reject you, aleast the Jesus of the Bible, IF you refused to repent, and stop your sins against Him, Jesus said to go and sin no more! Not I accept you in your vile perversions, and look the other way, you must repent, anf follow Jesus on the narrrow path!

A Call to Repentance

Here is more strong proof what the lord requires of His creation to be reconciled to Himself, it’s very simple but made so complicated by the heaps and heaps of pastors and ministries who have the nerve to say mankind does NOT have to repent to be saved.
They come with a simple plan that was concocted by many reformed preachers and bible scholars, making the way to the cross more of a simple confession you are a sinner, then accepting the great substitution Jesus miraculously made for them, but they fail to give any proof that the word of God let alone the King of Kings taught this non sense!
Many will fight with all they have to preserve their man made doctrines including original sin, which then gives them many excuses to ignore the powerful verse above as well as many more strong warnings to repent, turn, come broken in heart before the mercy seat, and hope and pray God will grant pardon!
Now if this was being preached in the church system today, and well understood by the saved in sin defenders, then the mess Christianity is in today would not be so, instead, the word of God would become real, and powerful, converting the lost soul, once in love with sin, rebellion and the world, now cleansed and purged of all filthiness, and wickedness, ready to receive the implanted word of God!
But today these verses are totally ignored, and replaced with a sin message, undermined by many, many, reformed errors, where simple repentance is lost in a sea of original sin, imputation, substitution, OSAS etc, producing a church that was called poor, blind and naked by Jesus Himself!

And you shall be My sons and daughters,

We must come to Jesus on His terms, not mans, I know many are taught the opposite today, they either were indoctrinated into these teachings at an early age, and refuse to even search the scriptures, search what the early church taught, or dig deep to see just how far off the mark many liberal translations of the Bible are.
When the reformation came about, around the year 1500, many denominations were formed that took these errors and built on them, leading to what we have today! Many will profess anything different from what their beloved denominations teach is heresy, and a lie, especially those who cling to Calvinism, or any form of it.
This I understand, and accept, as God predicted this would happen, when the few remnant come with the truth. But it’s a bitter pill to swallow, when you see so many sincere people, young and old, so angry and upset when the truth is presented to them, and they attack the messenger.
To me this shows just how far off the mark they are in their minds, they love the lie, refuse to hear anything else except the born sinner, Jesus sub plan, made so famous by the likes of Billy Graham, Ed Young, and many more mega preachers, selling a gospel that is totally backwards from what the early church and Christ taught.
Are we full of pride and arrogant to say these things? Are we evil, uncaring, and full of hate when we confront the wall of deception accepted as truth today?
I guess I can also say this about the many who cling to the saved IN sin message, repeat after me crowd, who has every excuse why they can sin with impunity, then just confess, and then continue as a vile sinner in heart, where purity and separation is a pipe dream never to be accomplished in this life, even though the whole council of God is against them.
Dig deep as commanded, have some confidence in the Lord to lead you into truth, not some ministry or church pastor you support, who clings to these errors for whatever reason.
The gospel according to godliness is a TO DO gospel, which can only be received and understood in its form and context when the sinner wakes up and does this:
James 1-21-22;
21 So get rid of all uncleanness(repent) and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].!
1, You repent first and foremost, see 2 Corinthians 7-10-11.
2, Then if the repentance is real, and from the heart, godly sorrow as described in 2 Corinthians, you then can receive the implanted word of God, and understand it as written by God.
3, Now you become a passionate doer of the word, obeying God from your heart, cleansed and purified, broken and willing to learn and grow more, and more in His great truth.

We can flee from sin and evil, but we are not able to do for ourselves what the blood of Christ does for us. Even after coming to Christ, we still sin. We're still human. I agree that Christian groups should not promote sin, but there are sins more subtle and pervasive than homosexuality. I think the danger is becoming too pride and looking down on others because of it. There are so many ways the enemy can appeal to a person's vanity.

Hi .........God's love is unconditional but what we have to understand is God he said his mercy endureth forever and his grace is sufficient but God hates sin all sin .......God doesnt hate the homosexuals and love the liars or the gossippers he hates the sin but because of his grace he wants us to ask for forgiveness. Im just sharing with you what the bible teaches and what God requires of us im speaking this in all love . “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination [towebah].” Leviticus 18:22 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination [towebah]: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” Leviticus 20:13 . The bible also says that when jesus returns he is taking a church meaning a people with out spot and blemish i have to strive to be holy daily ........God said if we disobey his word he will place curses on us ......God bless and really pray about it .

Hi,hope that the Spirit of He who sits on the throne forever,helps you break the bondages of sin....Romans 1:18-32 Rom1:27 says,"...also the men leaving the natural use of a woman burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful..." Rom1:32 says "...and not only those who do the same but those who approve...(shall be judged)" If u indeed love God and have accepted Christ as your LORD and saviour whatever He says goes,every aspect of your life belongs to Him.Now i will tell you my story, i was somewhat bisexual, and had other sexual problems,till one day in a dream He told me that i was among those who called Him Lord but did not do what He said i should do (leave sin). (matthew 7:22 and luke 6:46.) Mat7:23 says "...i will say to them depart from Me,i never knew you..." from that day,i pray everyday that my mind be renewed by His word and that I become a new creation.all of my old ways have passed away through the name of Jesus

What a load of rubbish! Tommy stop trying to turn everything into your personal vendetta against the church! Jesus didn't reject sinners! He did the opposite!

"Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them" (Luke 15:1-2)

He also went to the house of Zacchaeus, and told the parables of the lost coin, the lost sheep and the lost son! All pointing out that God wants the ones who are lost. I suggest you get into the gospels Tommy because you are obviously missing something.
