I like some electronic music. But most of the Christian stuff is either way to pop/clubby and the dubstep is mostly remixes of Hillsong or other CCM artists, which i don't like to begin with. So i don't make much effort to find it. Since i prefer harder stuff the secular stuff i would like is usually pretty foul.
i guess because you haven't really looked for it, you haven't found any of the really talented Christian dubstep out there.
here are a few Christian dubstep artists whose repertoires go far beyond "remixes of hillsong" (not saying there aren't some hillsong remixes in there too):
Re5a
Matthew Parker
Andy Mineo
Swedish Revolution
DJ Siah
DJ Jireh
AAA band
Josiah Kramer
most of these have a good bit of music free on Soundcloud.
more hardcore, industrial Christian music is out there, it's not very easy to find though. a couple of my favourites that are currently still making music:
Sublevel Seiben
Zero+one
How to Avoid Art
Dead Turns Alive
Autovoice
Opus Majestic
Echelon High
Kekal, too, though they haven't written "evangelistic" music since there first few albums, is a band you might want to look into if. They are sometimes considered 'the first Christian Unblack metal band' (though others like Horde may actually have a legitimate claim to that, we shouldn't be "desirous of vain glory") but Kekal's musical history has been that of a very progressive metal band, mixing elements of electronic music, to the point that there last 2 or 3 albums have been almost completely "industrial" and some, especially from the album "8" every bit as hard-edged as any secular band in the genre. though they don't write "worship songs" and aren't actively evangelical, they are unashamedly Christian and a person with understanding can see that perspective in their lyrics. There first few albums lyrics leave zero doubt about where they stand, though as a band they "make music" rather than try to preach the gospel. Whther that qualifies it as "Christian Music" -- that's a whole other discussion to be had.
the first band i think of when someone says "Christian EDM" is Mortal. now defunct, but arguably one of the most influential Christian elctronic/industrial groups in the last two decades. danceable, with pop sensibility, also able to put out some very heavy music ( check their "Nu-en-jin" album ). one of the two members is now a guitarist for Switchfoot.
@ WeirdoxTiffers -- thanks! enjoying your hubby's "How Great Thou Art" right now, give him a hug for me.
i listen to a lot of Christian Electronic, the bands i listed here are only a small sample that comes to mind right away. if you dig around, there are many =]
