The ever abounding excuses and also yet, the convictions of the heart. People around the world feeling unworthy to step foot in a church for fear that they may be a hypocrite to the standards proclaimed therein. Do you not know that the difference between those within and those without is simply belief in Jesus Christ, the Savior? Do you not know that those within too are hypocrites, also falling short of the standard of perfection that is God's righteousness? God's word says that all fall short of His glory. Everyone, there is not one of us who are perfect in all of His ways.
This being the case, why would we not go to church? Why would we forsake that which we need? Even so, forsake those that need us? Yes, the people in the church need you. God so desires to work in and through you to lift up others, so enough with the excuses. You are essential to those you meet, in divinely set encounters. You are not a hypocrite, you are a human in need of God's sanctification. Part of that process can happen in that church you're avoiding. So step in, walk in love, and be open (and listening) for His leading.
This is an accompanying song, that while listening to it I could see it speaking to those who have fallen short, and feel defeated. It doesn't have to be so, as the song says "its only one day." While I don't think its a Christian band, the song itself is powerful when understood that God doesn't condemn us and mistakes/errors happen. Yet, move forward, and rise to new heights.
