Is there a program we can use vs using the web based chat system for Christian chat on the site?

Technically, the question makes no sense. The entire site is web based. Without the web, there is no site. Its a 'web site'.
The chat program is Flash based, and pad and phones don't support Flash, if that's what you're really asking. There is no app for the site, just a mobile version of the forums.
I suggest if you're seeking the option to enter chat with mobile devices look through the User2User threads as this question comes up all the time. There is an option or two, but i don't know what they're called. Some kind of special browsers with built in Flash functionality. Though they will not support the audio/video. Only the text chat.

Technically it does make sense my friend. Many web based chat systems have downloadable programs for the chat features only either specifically designed for them or there are even ones out there that can be used with the client. For example irc web based chats you can use irc programs to log into them. What I am wanting to know is if there is such a downloadable program that can be used with this chat system rather then always keep a web browser open. Hope this clarified it some for ya. Appreciate the help. :)

No, there is no downloadable version, only the browser-based version at this time.

Next to the tab DONATE, there´s triangle you can used to turn it down. On default, it´s hi... On the other hand, you can ALSO turn the volumen up or down to your own computer (poke on the speakers, right down your screen).

Hope it serves!

Step 1. Clicl on TAB Chat Romm & Forums.

Step 2. Customizing your internet connection: High Speep or Low Speed connection.

Step 3. Using or not a web camera.

Step 4. LETME HEAR PEOPLE (or not) tab.

Step 5. The box of the chat room you want to be in... Then click the tan CHAT NOW.

Enjoy yourself.

Good bye!

It may be because I'm an audiophile or sound enthusiast and somewhat tech minded that my belief that the chat system is honestly much bulkier than it needs to be and doesn't provide as much benefit as it could exists. This is not to say I don't appreciate the work that has gone into it, and to provide it for free is certainly a matter of being thankful for, but there have been reliable conferencing systems in place for quite some time now that handle such matters and provide more for everyone, including desktop session sharing for those who wish to walk other users through problems on their own computers, direct instant messaging, the ability to create non-persistent channels that disappear once the user who created them leaves, individual volume and ignore controls for every user signed into the systems, file upload, download and storage capabilities, and other features I haven't gotten into in this post for the sake of trying to keep it short.
Again, tis is not intended as criticism, since I'm sure a ton of hard work went into this particular system; I just believe there are probably more efficient ways to handle video and audio chat conferencing which can in some cases even provide more entertainment for the people owing to the number of possibilities present in the systems in question. This is certainly a unique system, probably the only one of its kind I've ever seen on the net.

Keep in mind that the video/audio also needs to be monitored easily. So the more features they add, the more they need to monitor, and since the staff, other than the site own, are all purely volunteer, there is no one to keep track of people potentially misusing the site. So 'disappearing channels' goes against the sites ability to record and store past conversations. Some features are purposefully just not implemented to help maintain control over the site, near as i can tell.
Also the entirety of the work of the site, upgrades, upkeep, adding new features, repairs, etc.. is done by one person. So there are things that would like to be done to the site, but funds and a one person army limit the availability to get things done.

I understand, and as previously posted I wasn't atempting to downplay anything that has been done here. Honestly I have no idea what kind of work goes into this system; I've just been involved in my fair share of audio and video conference type situations in the past and this one certainly is unique. Nevertheless, it works; that's what matters.

Our current chat software has been custom built from the ground up for our purposes and is still a work in progress so additional features will added as time goes. Unfortunately the old software we were running on was seriously antiquated so a change was needed.

Unfortunately most commercially available chat software does not provide the source coding so that the purchaser can customize the coding to their needs so we (RoboOp) were pretty much forced to build our own. Features such as the YouTube rooms, the linking to BibleGateway, and other features would not be possible with most commercially available chat software.

Fair points. Perhaps the only thing that I've been able to gather about the bits of software I've used for conferencing purposes is that they're all built using linux at least for foundation purposes, but more than that I cannot say, and as I've little knowledge myself on the system prefering to stick to windows for just about everything from audio production to the more simple aspects of computing I doubt I'll be learning anything else in the near future.

I hope you didn't misunderstand. When I said "we", I meant the site in general. I threw RoboOp's name in there because he specifically does all the programming. I couldn't program anything to save my life.
