Anyone know how to fix a keyboard? Some letters on my other laptop aren't working. I tried taking them out and cleaning them but it didn't work. It's my fault though I bring the laptop into the kitchen when I'm cooking (my bad).

Have you tried another EXTERNAL keyboard with an USB cord?

That would serve you to know the problem it is inside the internal config. of your laptop and NOT its keyboard.

What are those keys not working?

I don´t like laptops for those reasons. Use an external one, whenever you are home.

If it is too "sticky" don´t put it in the trash can: I can give you my home address to receive it.

LoL!

If a laptop keyboard goes out just replace it. They really aren't that expensive and depending on the model, aren't difficult to replace. It took me about five minutes to replace the keyboard on my Acer when it started dropping keys.

Usually the keys don't respond due to accidental damage; sometimes the key matrix just fails (electronic failure). Oncefallen is right; they're easy to replace and affordable.

If you don't feel comfortable with replacing it, an external USB keyboard is your only other option. There really is no simple way to repair the keyboard.

Siberian and Fallen gave you ideas you could check as affordable.

The external USB keyboard, also by usage, could damage any of your USB ports.

I left mine out one night and my bird picked most of the keys off the keyboard. I've been using a wireless keyboard since and actually prefer it.

How can a usb keyboard damage your usb port?

He had no problem with the ports, it´s I who mentioned it as a potential "disadvantage".

The wireless one is the best option, maybe the cheaper, ´cos I guess he won´t plug and unplug its bluetooh conn.

Wireless keyboards can be Bluetooth or USB. :)

If choosing the keyboard option, probably needs a mouse, to avoid loosing your comfort. That mouse could be wireless or USB cabled
(you chose!)
