how do you delete your account?

Maybe we should just have a dedicated forum/thread for this. We get so many public requests/inquiries on "how to delete my account". This would sort of streamline it, no?

I've thought the same thing, but on a number of threads. Masturbation, homosexual desires/gay marriage, getting divorce/marital problems, etc... haha. These subjects pop up a new thread from every other day to once a week.

We would really prefer that people contact us directly rather than posting about it publically.

Well, it could just be a thread explaining to people that they need to contact mods, who the mods are and how to contact them to make the request. Make it a sticky thread, and close it so people can't post to have their accounts closed and ignore the explanation. Just a thought.

Why do people sign up if they want to delete their account so early on? It just strikes me as silly.

Many people find they are unhappy with the way we run our chat room, or they are ones that are easily offended and want to leave for that reason. Others get so addicted to the site they feel as if they must have their accounts deleted to stop them from coming here, because they are not capable (or not willing) to use enough self control to keep them from logging in. The reasons vary drastically from case to case.
