If you check the forum new members introduction, you will see that there are two circles by my information instead of just one. Please delete the smaller circle or tell me how I can delete it. My account is seeking wisdom. I joined on 5/13/23

No idea about the two circles. Do you mean the little green one and the one with an S in it?
The little green one is simply an indicator that you're logged in. Logging out causes it to go away till you next log in.

There is a smaller circle of your icon that indicates you've participated in that thread? I think you can "unfollow" the thread somewhere, or something like that, if that is what you might be asking about?
If so, click on the thread and then select "unwatch."

Yes, if you have posted in a thread, a smaller icon of your avatar shows to the bottom right
of the person's avatar who started the thread. Nobody else can see that avatar (the former)
but the person that it belongs to, which lets them know they have posted in that thread.

Ah yes. That one. But it has nothing to do with following a thread, it merely shows you've participated in it.

If one can select "unwatch" to remove it, then I assume one can select "watch" even though they refrain from participation? I don't know though, I've only "unwatch"ed.

Selecting unwatch doesn't remove it. It only shows you've posted in a thread. The watch/unwatch and little circle are completely unrelated.
But, yes, you can watch and unwatch threads as you desire.
