Some people think they are beyond the forgiveness of God. A gentleman named John was listening to the Basic Gospel radio broadcast one day. Something he heard prompted him to call. The shame and guilt in his voice were palpable. I asked him: "John, do you believe you've crossed a line and that there is no hope for you?"

"Yes, that's exactly how I feel."

What a horrible place to be. If you believe your sins are so big that they have exhausted the supply of God's grace, you are doomed to a life of self-condemnation and will miss the grace of God for you.

Paul could have easily lived under a blanket of self-condemnation. He blasphemed God's good name and persecuted Christians. As he said to Timothy, he was the chief of sinners. But God exercised unlimited patience with Paul and poured out his grace on him abundantly.

The gospel tells us that God's grace never runs out. It is a limitless supply, which means there is no line you can cross. There is no place you can be that God cannot reach you.

Grace takes you out of your sin and places you into Christ Jesus. Since God does not remember your sins, there is no need for you to keep dredging them up.

Forgiveness Challenge #17 - Look deep inside and find those things that are keeping you from fully embracing the grace of God. Then let the following verse melt those things away:

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Yes. a fact and many are, not seeing the depth of God's love through Son

Psalm 103:12New International Version (NIV)[SUP]12 [/SUP]as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Said before Christ came and did this. It is finished are you famished?

There is no more forgiveness to be executed to us from God than what has ben executed to us by Son

Man do I know this. Thank the Lord he is a forgiving God or because of last night I would be doomed.
Part of asking forgiveness is humility. We need to learn to humble ourselves before God or anyone that we need forgiveness from.
But we also need to understand that God is a better forgiver than man. Go to God first then if man doesn't forgive you its on him not you.
Homwardbound what a great forum. I think I will stay here a bit my brother.

That is so true. We have a tendency to think we'll I know this so I don't need to listen to him. Sometimes if we would only shut our mouth and open our ears we could learn so much more.
With forgiveness what is more important...forgiveness from man or forgiveness from God? Man won't always forgive us and sometimes that's ok. Humbly before God we will be forgiven. Not to say we keep on sinning because we will just be forgiven. But to say God can teach us through the "stupid" things we do. If we stay in sin we can never grow but if we truly strive to be Holy, God will help us grow.

People tend to forgive.....pretty much.....but they always say... I,ll forgive you but I,ll never forget....
I am so thankful our God not only forgives but He forgets.....unless we keep bringing it back up....
and taking it out of His hands.....sure glad I got no long term memory left.....or all that forgiving
was for nothing.....lol

My problem is I can remember a lot of what I have done. I was once told "you can't change you never will". That sticks pretty hard from someone you were married to for almost 10yrs. But our God is a God who can change us. "The old is gone the new has come" 2 Cor 5:17. I have been forgiven I no longer live in the past. Sure I might mess up again but I am a "new me" in Christ who died for me. He died to forgive me. It's so cool because this is a personal statement to each one of us if we would just bow down before Him in humility....Lord please forgive me of my sins. He forgave He forgot. He has to keep reminding me "um, hey been there done that stop bringing it up" Oh us humans are so funny some times. I wonder how many times God has watched me and just sighed thinking "Oh silly human let me pick you back up" lol. What an amazing God we have!!!!

We have to forgive ourselves, not to do you renders ourselves more holy than He. What I mean by that is If He can forgive us who are we not to. Another way of looking at it is we are actually saying that the sacrifice of Jesus isn't enough.

These two statements alone should be enough to forgive ourselves don't you think?

This is a good thread because it goes along with what people forget or cancel out when it comes to salvation.
Jesus gave things we as His sheep must do, and He said we must forgive others or we will not be forgiven.

Very true and sometimes I think we forget that. Sometimes it is harder for us to forgive ourselves than to forgive others. I think that is why God keeps telling me "been there done that"

There is a spiritual warfare going on and the forces that try to bring us down use any means possible to do that. Our past is one thing they use a lot saying "remember when you did this?" Taking our focus away from God and what He did for us. It was done once no need to do it again in the words of Jesus "It is finished" John 19:30

Yet Brother if one has received the forgiveness Christ did at the cross, and you thus see you as forgiven, o more sacrifice, no more shed blood for sin, understand it is done.

How can one not forgive? If we still have to forgive to get forgiven then we do not believe God not 100%

1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.

John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Did he die for all the sin of the world and make us holy before Father

Colossians 1:22Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)[SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

So in light of being forgiven, how can one not forgive in response to being forgiven by the almighty

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Awesome, we all develop habits that always if practiced long enough become an expression of who we are, and eventually the habit becomes a Character to eventually a trait, as long as we don't give up like Job, did not give up,
