I rebelled against 'God' or maybe religion before I was old enough to consider the idea. Maybe 2nd or 3rd grade. I don't know if this is going to throw a wrench in the works here but it seems it is difficult to get just the right sense of a question sometime. Since I am relatively new to a 'more true' Christianity this answer in response to the question may be itself questionable. On the other hand it may be that the 'New Age' movement is just part of a rebellion that is rooted in something even more pervasive. Maybe even something as mundane as the boob tube and now social media and I am quite certain my antagonism toward any religion was rooted in dysfunction.

The 'power of nature' is something I just mentioned today. The FNX network seems to portray many of the First Nations people as reverting to this teaching. The little I have seen of it seems to indicate their reasoning is to preserve the culture. I don't recall the authors name off the top of my head, but I still have the jacket for a book titled 'God is Red'. I don't actually know what the book is about but I believe the author is a citizen of a First Nation.

Seems that this post should be broken up into several pieces. The sense of this paragraph reminds me of an episode or two of 'Twilight Zone'. However, the 'Twilight Zone' episode I can almost envision had only one religion it seems. And an early movie starring William Shatner of Star Trek fame was 'Wild in the Streets' which was not religion but use of drugs to control the citizenry. This may not be in line with what you are aiming at with the seemingly broad question you posited but it is what came to my mind. And actually the reference you make here about 'interpretation of religions' seems to be the clincher for what lies ahead. Makes me wonder if 4th century Roman Empire might not be the template for the future too. Maybe the adage, why reinvent the wheel, applies. Someone familiar with that history might say if there is any merit to this idea. I've heard that 'The Prince' by Machiavelli has been studied by numerous tyrants and possibly even Hitler. So the ideas for control have been massaged and refined thru out history and now it is just a matter of adaptation and or incorporation with modern technology. And the reference to peace is scripturally backed it seems.

This to me sounds like something that a group like 'Heaven's Gate' or some 'Pythagorean influenced' group would concoct. What the Bible mentions regarding the specific details of the details and personages are vague to me and I won't and wouldn't speculate. However, it seems the statement, 'the devil is in the details', has Biblical backing. I believe the event described in the following verse has already occurred.

Of a truth, there is nothing new in the “new age movement”. For The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, see, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Seems that people have so many different "truths" in Christianity that agreements about truth is rare. In Christianity, everyone is a heretic to someone else. Quite a shame really. I am sad to know that God's people are so divided on nearly everything that what isn't overtly new age may be sitting right in front of their nose.

It's one of the reasons but not the only reason; people have been rebelling against God from the get-go. But it has been a very destructive movement in modern times and has led many astray, no question about it.

When I say the world will rebel against God I mean when the nations come together for a global government and they stop the belief in a personal God and the Gospel of Christ on a world wide level.

That means they have to adapt a belief system world wide that is contrary to the truth of the word of God and then not allow the truth to be preached or it will be a hate crime for they will say it is not the truth and they want peace.

The only belief system that I can see that would do that would be the new age movement for they believe that people are still evolving to be spiritual and godlike which the Bible says the time will come that they will not endure the truth of the Bible but want to hear it according to their own lusts which fits the new age movement that they will evolve to be spiritual and godlike and there is no higher power above them which it caters to their arrogance and self exaltation.

Also they say the New Age Christ will rule the world which he will be of the occult which the Bible says he will honor the God of forces and the occult is about trying to tap into nature for power which he will claim to be God which would have to be by evolving for the New Age Christ is of the new age movement.

God will not give up on the world until the world gives up on him so He is giving the world 7 years to have their way and cause all people that do not love Him to follow the antichrist and take his mark and then repentance and salvation are no longer available to the world and God can end sin on earth.

As long as one nation allows the truth to be preached God would not end sin on earth so it can only happen if all the nations government are together as one and stop the preaching of the truth on a world wide scale.

The new age movement is the only belief system that I see that can cause this to happen for they believe in no personal God and say that Jesus is not Lord and Savior but still honor him as a great teacher and an ascended master which is something that all the other religions can accept.
