Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

- John 15:4-5 (KJV)

Third day have resonated with me all through my journey since becoming a believer. ❤️

I have sadly heard their music criticised mostly because of 1 of 2 things, the rock music element, and the fact “some of the songs have lyrics that could just be about a lover because they don't mention God or Jesus’ name or because they are so vague”.

My responses - the psalmist didnt always mention God by name.
An entire book of the bible - Esther - doesn't mention Gods name.
The entire book of Song of Solomon is about God’s love for us - according to most of the people complaining to me about third days lyrics.

And as for loud songs with guitars etc… maybe go to a Jewish celebration… see what kind of music might have been at the wedding Jesus went to, or what he might have danced to at His 12th birthday!
And, David certainly didn’t dance around in his undergarment to an organ playing or calm meditational instrumentals or an acapella style hymn .

i personally am so very glad bands and songs like this exist ❤️ Thanks for sharing

Whew! Thank you! I hesitated posting this one for the very same reasons you’ve mentioned, but in the end went ahead with it. I love the energy, the harmony in the “when I get carried away” part, but most of all the truth that we simply cannot live without Him. Thank You, Jesus.

Another criticism I hear about modern praise and worship music (not specifically Third Day) is how
repetitive some of the lyrics are, and I have to wonder... how often did Jesus repeat Himself? And how
many times do we need to read the same thing over and over again before we get some deeper insight
into it, or just to be perpetually reminded of how awesome God's love for us truly is? Who tires of that???

So true!
These critics must have skipped the psalms altogether, - especially 136 lol
