That's exactly my point. Why would God give us intelligence to try to figure things out and then expect us not to use said intelligence?

We are not making the same point.

A.) MY POINT implied (indirectly) that GOD GAVE US INTELLECT.

B.) YOUR POINT was a conclusion about HOW TO USE THAT INTELLECT.

C.) My point and your point are completely different things.

D.) If you are asserting that, since God GAVE us intellect, we should therefore USE that intellect for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING... or even ANYTHING & EVERYTHING that is scientific... we can easily prove that YOU don't even believe that.

E.) I don't believe YOU would use YOUR intellect, to pursue scientific methods to: abuse your wife, or deal drugs, or harm children... I don't believe you would use your intellect to "explore" or "figure out" better ways to do such things.

F.) Therefore, even YOU believe the endeavors of the intellect are to have certain moral constraints.

G.) Therefore, there is no argument that just because God GAVE us intellect, we are expected to use it to "explore" or "figure out" just ANYTHING & EVERYTHING.
(You could even make the study of "wife abuse" a very scientific pursuit... but we'd never say the study of "how to better abuse your wife" is a good scientific endeavor. )

CONCLUSION:
We all curtail our intellectual pursuits by some moral code, and that is the same premise we see in scripture.
...
therefore dude's conclusion falls by it's own weight, and by the example of dude's own personal life and beliefs.

IN FAIRNESS:

A.) I DO however agree with dude, that there is no connection shown, whatsoever, between demons and particle physics.

B.) If such a connection exists, it has yet to be shown either in scripture or in science.

Now people, please, for the love of all that is holy, please be sensible, so I don't have to agree with Dude ever again.

Did you really just compare particle physics to someone beating his wife?
Wife beating is immoral for obvious reasons because it causes harm.
What's immortal about studying subatomic particles?

You still haven't shown the connection between particle physics and Satan
I don't know of a verse. However, I just discovered a verse in Jeremiah this morning that links visions people of had of Tsunamis hitting the US as part of God's judgement. It is in Jeremiah 51 and so I am currently putting a discussion on Jeremiah 51 into my blog.

I have heard several dreams and visions of people who definitely had no scientific background and yet their dream was very remarkable. This one woman didn't know how to pronounce stratosphere even though that was in her dream, so someone with out any scientific background, and yet they mentioned a principle of science I had never heard of. I have Taught Earth science for years and have 75 post graduate hours. So after hearing the dream I looked it up and it was a genuine principle that I guarantee very few know about. But what I will do is look into this and see if I can find a verse, thank you, I am putting this at the top of my to do list as soon as I finish Jeremiah 51.

Judgment for what though? Doing science?

Oops typo... I meant immoral
Spousal abuse.... Immoral
Studying subatomic particles... Not immoral

Seriously? Physics is the science that gave us the atomic bomb. Chemistry is the science that figured out how to do the holocaust the most efficiently. Biology is the science that gave us bioweapons.

Not only so but in the name of science we have had war crimes committed by Japan, Germany, and China.

Tuskegee is one example of scientists acting like criminals in the US.

St Vincent Orphanage experimented on dozens of children infecting them with turberculin.

The Stateville Peniteniary infected prisoners with Malaria.

The University of Pennsylvania infected 200 female prisoners with viral hepatitis.

The CIA experimented with open air biological weapons near Tampa Bay, Florida.

Over 300,000 infected mosquitos were air dropped over Georgia to see if they would survive to infect people.

The US military sprayed several of their ships with biological and chemical weapons without warning the military personnel aboard the ship.

The US military also released bioweapons into the NY Subway and the Chicago Subway to see how vulnerable subway passengers were.

Then of course there many psychological tests performed by the CIA like MKUltra, etc.

The idea that science can't be used unethically is incredibly naive.

A.) I never said that... you are now fabricating strawman arguments because you said something irrational you can't defend.

B.) What I DID was take a very GENERALIZED STATEMENT you made, that was ENTIRELY IRRATIONAL, and PROVE IT WAS FALSE.

C.) You said something irrational, and I proved it was false... that is what happened.

This is why I haven't commented on any of dude's posts for years... he continually says irrational things he can't defend, so he relies on strawmen, misrepresenting and misquoting others, changing the subject, and various kinds of rhetorical deception... because he can never win an argument.

Sorry dude, I sincerely wish you all the best, but that's why I stopped talking to you... because you can't discuss anything honestly.

But you did use that as an analogy. I said God gave us intellect to figure things out so why wouldn't we use it
And you said a man could use his intellect to beat his wife also.
And I get your point that science can be used for good and evil. So can a gun. You can use it to defend yourself or you can use it to murder someone.
But that doesn't mean we disarm everyone in America because some people are killing people with guns
You can split an atom and level a city but you can also use that same energy to power a nuclear submarine for like 30 years
Just like that doesn't mean we just stop scientific research because science can be used for evil
All they are doing with the hedgehog collider is creating a miniature Big bang trying to recreate the conditions that started the universe
So basically people are demonizing curiosity

Oops not hedgehog collider. Hadron collider
Google voice to type keeps messing up my words but you get the point.
Why do you assume they are doing something sinister by studying particle physics?

According to what I have read about particle accelerators the only real harm they can do is that they create ionizing radiation but with the isotopes they use, it dissipates in a few hours and it creates radioactive waste, but so does a nuclear reactor
So again, I'm not sure what's with all the pants pooping over the hadron collider

I heard one that goes like this, "Don't bother me with facts, i've already made up my mind".

The facts are that the only discernible dangers of a particle accelerator are that it creates ionic radiation but with the isotopes they use, it dissipates in a few hours and it creates radioactive waste. But so does a nuclear reactor

That is why there are some people I just don't talk to... it's a pointless endeavor. And for every pointless endeavor God has something else he wants us to do, which is NOT a pointless endeavor. We only have so many hours in the day... and I think God wants us to be good stewards of our time.

However... I do put all those people on a list and pray for them daily.

God is still in the miracle business.

. I'm actually trying to have a constructive conversation and you're being condescending.
I addressed your points. You said that science can be used for evil. But so can a gun but that doesn't mean we disarm the entire population
But also doesn't mean we stop scientific research because science can be used for evil
Said it twice but I'll say it again. The only discernible dangers of particle accelerator is that it produces ionic radiation but they use isotopes that dissipate within a few hours and it produces radioactive waste but so does a nuclear reactor
We need to stop demonizing curiosity

Indeed, when we do His will there is often push back.
Each prayer adds to the previous, and of course He is working in the life of the recipient to prepare. That's how it looks from here right now.

Especially since he told us he no longer is a believer.
