it's not semantics
The way the scientific method works is that a theory is not called a theory until it is backed by observable and peer-reviewed evidence.
A hypothesis is a guess
I believe Edmon Halley's writing was peered reviewed, since it was published in The Royal Society Publishing.

You can have your view that the Concave Hollow Earth is hypothesis, and I can have my view that the Concave Hollow Earth is a theory. We can see things differently, it is really possible. You won't get me to argue on this point any more. Sorry, want to try to stay focused.

Do you have any proof that the Concave Hollow Earth is not possible by your scientific studies or knowledge? That's really what I want to discuss, not argue what a scientific theory is.

If any is presented, I'll let you know
Post 103 and 113 are my favorite in this thread. Post 113 can't be viewed on the college website, because it was taken down. So glad that I was able to saved the information, by posting some of the text. It seems I need start saving information, because it gets deleted.

Please pay special attention to those two. I figure since we can't agree on what a theory is, than we won't agree what proof is.

This video was done by a Flat Earther. Although, I don't agree with the Flat Earth model, the video brings up a good point in my opinion.

The Mapparium in Boston was created by the Christian Science Publishing House. It would make a good field trip or vacation destination spot.

I think the wiki explanation of the Mapparium pretty much concludes why the Concave Hollow Earth Theory is so hard to argue, it's "a mirror-image, concave reversal of the Earth, viewed from within". Like I said, it's an outside-in view from the Heliocentric model.

It basically borrows or steals all the work that mainstream science has done trying to avoid attention to God, and uses it to help prove God is in the center of the universe, and there is a different perspective on how to view the world with using the same information.

"The Mapparium was designed to allow the countries of the world to be viewed in accurate geographical relationship to each other, hence the design of the Mapparium—a mirror-image, concave reversal of the Earth, viewed from within. This is the only configuration that places the eye at the same distance from every point on the globe."

The United States Geodetic Survey crew for two years conducted further experiments, among them measuring the surface of a long lake in Florida on the theory that water conforms to the true curvature of the Earths surface regardless of how the land may be, thus giving a true level only to find that the water curved uphill in each direction rather than downhill. Can we blame them for deciding that to give these startling figures to the world would have no bearing on the practical problems of life, and was therefore best forgotten, since an explanation was beyond them?"

From this video, it appears that The United States Geodetic Survey happened in Naples Florida, from 1896-1897. Notice A.H. Andrews Concave Hollow Earth Model?

The way the scientific method works is that a theory needs to be based on observable evidence so this is a hypothesis. I posted many observable points as evidence, but you claim it's a hypothesis anyways. -kinda Since your statement implies that no observable evidence has been presented, please show your proof of this.
The person making the claim has the burden of proof

So, you are saying that the Concave Hollow Earth is a hypothesis, based upon evidence provided in this thread. If this is your claim, than provide burden of proof. I have posted a multitude of websites, videos, math equations, and etc.

So, I would expect your burden of proof to at least cover half of the posts made in this thread, to show any honest understanding of evidence provided. To be honest, I have zero expectations you can back up your claim. I feel you just wanted to have an a strawman's argument and not show any real interest in anything that was posted.

"A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man". Wikipedia

I feel your making a bunch of empty statements, that you are not wishing to back up. That is just from my observation.

Figuring out speed of the sun in a Concave Hollow Earth.

View attachment 245951

We can grab the circumference of the earth with a quick google search. Circumference of earth is about 25,000 miles, but since the sun rotates inside the earth at approximately 100-3500 miles up from earth (Concave Earth), than how do we figure this out?

View attachment 245952

Circumference = 3.14 X Distance.

How to find distance? According to the Tamarack Mine Shaft experiment using plumb lines, the center of gravity/universal compression is about 4,000 miles up from the ground. So distance of space is 8,000 miles wide. No so grand compared to the Heliocentric model. lol

Now since the sun is not centered, but off centered, we will have to make a guess on where exactly the sun is orbiting at. My guess would be 2,000 feet above sea level, so that would make distance 4,000 miles.

Now we have distance to figure out circumference.

Circumference = 3.14 X 4,000 miles

Circumference = 12,560 miles for the sun's orbit

Using the formula of Velocity = Distance / Time....

V = 12,560 miles divided by 24 hours.

V= 523 miles per hour, or speed of the sun's orbit.

This is just a rough estimate. This is far more believable to me, than the earth traveling at 67,000 miles an hour, but hey believe what you want. Plus, I don't even know for sure, if my numbers are 100% accurate.

Sorry, my apologies... I associated the idea of the Earth being on pillars with your assertion that it was in a fixed position.

Anyway, yeah... good to meet you too!
Well, your assertion was in error. lol Try asserting again.

Your assertion was in correlation with these Bible verses and the idea of earth being stationary.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever, Psalm 104:5

Job 26:7

7 He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as what's on the outside of earth in the Concave Hollow Earth, my best guess is what the Bible says, nothing.

The Earth is a Globe, Period. Jesus Christ was in the Heart of the Earth - the Center of the Globe - for 3 Days and Nights.

"It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as locusts: he that stretcheth out the heavens as nothing, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in." (Isa 40:22, DRB, translated 100s of years ago)

"For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Mat 12:40)

Flat Earth Myth is a lie promoted by Anti-Christian Atheists and Agnostics, and believed by some misguided Christians. The reality is, medieval Christians knew the Earth was a Globe, and even knew its (approximate) circumference. Here is the Reference:

"The myth of the flat Earth, or the flat earth error, is a modern historical misconception that European scholars and educated people during the Middle Ages believed the Earth to be flat.[1][2]
... Historians of science David Lindberg and Ronald Numbers point out that "there was scarcely a Christian scholar of the Middle Ages who did not acknowledge [Earth's] sphericity and even know its approximate circumference".[6]

...The myth that people in the Middle Ages thought the Earth is flat appears to date from the 17th century as part of the campaign by Protestants against Catholic teaching. But it gained currency in the 19th century, thanks to inaccurate histories such as John William Draper's History of the Conflict Between Religion and Science (1874) and Andrew Dickson White's A History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom (1896). Atheists and agnostics championed the conflict thesis for their own purposes, but historical research gradually demonstrated that Draper and White had propagated more fantasy than fact in their efforts to prove that science and religion are locked in eternal conflict.[9]"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth_of_the_flat_Earth To Wikipedia's credit, at least it is setting the historical record straight.

Although, 100 years is a long time, the King James Bible, which is regarded by many as the gold standard for Protestants, is over 400 years old.

Most Bible translations translate it to, "circle of the earth", not "the globe of the earth" (DRB) in Isaiah 40:22. There is even a translation for flat earthers in the International Standard Version for it says, "the disc above the earth". These two Bible translations are definitely out of line of most translations. Before you ask, I don't believe in the flat earth, but Concave Hollow Earth, link is below.

https://christianchat.com/conspiracy-corruption-discussion-forum/concave-hollow-earth-theory.198187/

https://biblehub.com/isaiah/40-22.htm

Next you quoted Mathew 12:40, this translation is from NKJB.

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

So, what does mean by, "heart of the earth"? Most Bible translations have, heart of the earth.

https://biblehub.com/matthew/12-40.htm

In Luke 24:1-3, it says the the stone rolled away from the tomb, then they went in and did not find the body of Jesus. Well, it appears the body of Jesus wasn't placed in the heart of the earth, since they were able to easily walk in the tomb. Yes? No? Maybe so?

Luke 24:1-3

1Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, [a]and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus

But Mathew 12:40 was referring to the time, when he was dead for three days. Right?

Where did Jesus go in Mathew 12:40?

"the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth"

Where is the heart of the earth?

That depends if you believe in Concave Hollow Earth, or if you are a globalist.

Left is the globe earth, and right in the Concave Hollow Earth.

If your a globalist, you would naturally believe Jesus, went to hell for three days. If you are a caveman, and believe in the Concave Hollow Earth, you believe Jesus went to heaven for three days.

I personally believe Jesus didn't goto hell, but went to heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:8

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

I believe the Bible and the verses posted in this thread, help prove the Cellular Cosmology to be true.

Rough sketch of Concave Earth Model. There is a better one out there, but it's done by a crazy person, so it's not appropriate for CC, but this one won't insult anyone I believe.

The sun would be higher up in the Northern Hemisphere in the Summer and lower in the Southern Hemisphere, during winter.

How many people know every Bible reference?!?! Sorry, I don't. That's why I make a habit of quoting scripture, so readers know what I'm referring to.

So, I listed 1 Samuel 2:8, so we can all take a look at it, and left some commentary on it from a website, as well as the other verses, that hint of a stationary earth, and moving sun.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them. 1 Samuel 2:8

Anyways, I really didn't know what 1 Samuel 2:8 meant regarding the pillars, so looked it up in a commentary:

1 Samuel 2:8. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, &c. — From the most mean estate and sordid place. To set them among princes — Instance Joseph, David, and Daniel. To make them inherit the throne of glory — That is, a glorious throne or kingdom; not only to possess it themselves, but to transmit it to their posterity, as the word inherit implies. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s — The foundations which God created and upholds, and wherewith he sustains the earth and all its inhabitants, as a house is supported with pillars. These words signify the reason of all that is contained in the five preceding verses. For the very earth being founded, upheld, and supported by the Lord, it is no wonder that all the inhabitants of it are in his power, so that he can dispose of them as he pleases.

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/1_samuel/2-8.htm

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Psalm 104:5

Psalm 104:5. Who laid the foundations of the earth — Hebrew, יסד ארצ על מכוניה, jasad eretz gnal mechoneah, who hath founded the earth upon its own bases, or foundations, that is, upon itself, or its own centre of gravity, by which it is self-balanced, and by which it stands as fast and immoveable as if it were built upon the strongest foundation imaginable, which is a most stupendous work of divine wisdom and power; that it should not be removed — Out of its proper place; for ever — Or, till the end of time, when it must give way to the new earth. “God,” says Dr. Hammond, “has fixed so strange a place for the earth, that, being a heavy body, one would think it should fall every moment: and yet, which way so- ever we should imagine it to stir, it must, contrary to the nature of such a body, fall upward, and so can have no possible ruin, but by tumbling into heaven,” namely, which surrounds it on all sides.

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/psalms/104-5.htm

The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises. Ecclesiastes 1:5

Ecclesiastes 1:5-6. The sun also riseth — The sun is in perpetual motion, rising, setting, and rising again, and so constantly repeating its course in all succeeding days, and years, and ages; and the like he observes concerning the winds and rivers,

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/ecclesiastes/1-5.htm

Joshua 10:12-14
At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.

Joshua 10:12. Then spake Joshua — Being moved so to do out of zeal to destroy God’s enemies, and directed by the motion of God’s Spirit, and being filled with a holy confidence, that what he said would be accomplished. And he spake it in the sight — That is, in the presence and audience; of all Israel — That they might be witnesses of the fact. Sun, stand thou still — Joshua does not speak according to the terms of modern astronomy, which it would have been highly improper for him to have done, as he would not have been understood by the people that heard him, but according to the appearance of things.

O.k. this is just my perspective, which could be wrong, but I believe there is truth in it.

One time I left the shower on by accident, when I finally went to the bathroom, the whole room was filled with steam, and the water was dripping from the ceiling.

When this happend, I concluded that, there must be a glass ceiling like the concave hollow earth points to. When there is enough steam/clouds that collects above the skies, the water falls, just like my bathroom when the shower was left on.

Many that believe in the concave hollow earth, believe there is two spheres inside of earth. The celestial sphere and the lower sphere (whatever they call it) at 100km or 60 miles up.

Even mainstream science acknowledges the ionosphere.

The concave hollow earth theorizes that the glass ceiling explains the moon dogs and sun dogs.

So, I agree with the comedian, that flat earth is non-sense, but I think he must be joking, comparing 1,000 mph spin rotation, and 66,600 mph orbiting speed, with a 80 mph vehicle, with a bee inside. They hardly seem comparable, but that's just me.

He also confirms his belief with the Heliocentric model, that the atmosphere is in sync with earth while moving. Here is another possibility that fits the description of the earth is in sync with the atmosphere......The earth is stationary with earth's atmosphere. Woah!!! lol How can that beeeeeee? hee hee

How fast does a NASA centrifuge spin?

"Compressed air is pumped out under airpads that float the Spacecraft on a bed of air. The wind generated when the centrifuge moves at its maximum speed are more than 200 mph - that's tornado speed.Oct 20, 2011"
