Democracy and voting is not really something detailed in the Bible, but do you think that a voter is responsible for the sins of the politicians he/she helps elect?

Where does the responsibility come into play?

Is voting that one 'get out of sin' card?

Does none of it matter, if you have Jesus absolve all your sins?

Thoughts?

Are we implicated by proxy if we vouch for an evil sinner?

Guilt by association is taught in the bible.....me personally I exercise option three.......the world will go the way the world will go and I choose to not pick a lesser of two evils.....it seems that most politicians are saying what the public want to hear to get elected.....

I pondered this and came to the conclusion that if I vote for a candidate I have some level of responsibility in the things they do. It is for that reason that I stopped voting.

Let me ask you this, if you choose to marry are you therefore responsible for the sins of your spouse because you chose them? The bible says that we are to pray for the leaders of our land. And I believe that if you pray about something, that you should do your part to make what you prayed for come about- to me that means praying and voting. I am not democratic or republic, I am Christian and vote for the one who is most Christ-like, who at least claims to do the most Christ-like things. But if I vote and they do wrong, I am not responsible for their sin. Either man is going to do wrong, so voting for the one who will do the most good is a good thing to do.

I'll admit I have not voted a few times because I didn't have time to do the research on the canidits, and I'd rather make no choice than to make an uniformed choice. But either way, at the very least I pray about it. But keep in mind that sometimes God purposely puts the bad leader in charge as disicpline to a nation who has forgotten God's ways. But the bible says that if His people (not the nation's people) will humbly pray and turn from THEIR wicked ways, that He will heal their land.

Jesus will lead each one to what specifically to do, all the time. if it is not known, pray until it is.

yes, as it is written, don't lay hands on anyone too quickly, lest you partake with them in their sins. NT.... somewhere....

voting for someone is consciously approving of what they do, and supporting it.

I believe in the guilty by association the bible teaches, yet I also would go with the fact that just because somebody is a Democrat does not mean they support abortion just because the Democratic president does. Because if we were going to go that route then I can say all Republicans only want to help the rich and screw the middle and lower classes over. Which this is not correct either.

I have a question, If you believe that God puts leaders in place, why do you vote?

In the world nobody is going to do it totally right, but if you do not vote it would seem wrong, because you might not like either candidate but you would have to pick the least of the two evils so things will not be as bad, because they are all you have to choose anyway.

If all you have you have to choose are candidates that are worldly and not in to God right,or not in to God at all,you might as well pick the one that is the least bad,if you can tell and they might lie,for it would be better than not choosing and the worse candidate winning.

Of course this would be for the benefit of the people that things will be better for them for we are strangers in the land passing through waiting for the kingdom, and whatever the world can do to us matter not for we are alright.

But Jesus said in the end times that evil men shall get worse and worse deceiving and being deceived, and can you tell who is lying and telling the truth between the candidates to pick the best one.
