Well the RCC membership in the U.S. was in a 4 decade decline a couple of years ago according to the PewResearchCenter. Don't see a lot of people flocking into the RCC here but buildings being closed and former members leaving them for less traditional denominations and back to their bibles.

i'm glad God brought me out of the RCC too....... thanks be to God in Jesus Christ for that. Once again do your research there are many valid evidences available to prove the RCC is mostly evil. History records the terror of Rome's thirst for blood, power and dominance. yes I have read a hundred or so pages, seems my view is held by lots of people over bad doctrone,

and coruption in the churchs history, but so many there, wanted to start one on a new fad,

my brother is anyone who is not an anti christ, we will all be in his kingdom together,

and some will go through the tribulation, and some might be hidden, tucked in his belt,

Unity. That is the theme of Pope Francis’s upcoming trip to the Holy Land. On May 24, the pope will arrive in the Middle East for a two-day whirlwind trip that will span Israel, including a visit to the West Bank, and Jordan. The trip will coincide with a visit from the Orthodox patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew i.

The theme of the journey—what it commemorates—and who will be in attendance both speak volumes for the strengthening relationship between Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.

The trip is planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of a meeting between Pope Paul vi and Patriarch Athenagoras i.

That important meeting was a serious step toward healing age-old divisions between the rival faiths. In that 1964 meeting, the two religious leaders expressed regret at the “reprehensible gestures” that took place at the time of the great schism between east and west in 1054.

Those gestures were the excommunications that both groups served to one another. Pope Paul vi and Patriarch Athenagoras i rendered these excommunications null and void during their meeting.

This was a massive step toward unifying the two faiths.

The Islamic State’s threats against Pope Francis are not just media propaganda but quite “real,”

The five-minute video, titled “A Message Signed With Blood to the Nation of the Cross,” depicts Islamic State jihadists beheading 21 Coptic Christians on the coast of Libya. A masked jihadist issues a threat to Italy’s capital, emphasizing how geographically close the site of the slaughter was to the European city: “[T]oday, we are on the south of Rome, on the land of Islam, Libya .… And we will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission, the promise of our prophet, peace be upon him.”

Giani said threats against the Vatican and the pope extend beyond the Islamic State to also include the risk of lone-wolf attacks. Such lone wolves are “more dangerous because they are unpredictable,” he added.

Pope Francis has been made aware of the risks the Islamic State presents. But Giani says Francis “is not compromising the style of his pontificate, based on closeness to the people, that is, on personal contact with the greatest number of people possible.”

Giani added that his force knew of no plans for a specific attack at the time of the interview.

This is not the first time the Islamic State has threatened Rome, but it is the first time the Vatican has let it be known that it takes the threats seriously.

Political support for Italian military involvement is growing. Last month, the president of Italy’s Senate Defense Commission warned that if diplomatic efforts fail, Italy must be ready to engage in military intervention to halt the Islamic State’s advance.
