It is written Psalm 10:4 “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.” And also here in Psalm 59:12 “For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.”

Pride
is like scales that cover the eyes of the carnally minded man that cannot see the spiritual things of God. It is written of Saul in
Acts 9:1 “And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord…”

But the Lord Jesus would be revealed to Saul and ask Saul why he persecuted Him by persecuting his disciples. And then Saul would be made blind for 3 days until he received the Holy Ghost. But what I want you to see here is how it is described when Saul received his sight here in
Acts 9:18 “And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.”

I believe this wording of the
scales falling from the eyes is very important clue to see how the children of pride are blind until the Spirit of God anoints their eyes so they can see. In Job chapter 41 we see a sea beast called Leviathan which is a symbolism of the Red Dragon working in the many waters of humanity as shown in the book of Revelation. Notice in Job it says his scales are his pride….

Job 41:15 “His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.” He is also shown as the king of the children of pride. Job 41:34 “He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.”

The locust army in Revelation also had a king over them….
Revelation 9:11 “And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. And Abaddon translated=destruction

And even so the children of
pride like a swarm of locust go before destruction
Proverbs 16:18Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

It is written Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying.

Yeah that is what I would do....(not)....take scripture that is contextually applied to the coming of Jesus at his 1st coming and apply it to a post about pride......!

Oh I have, and when you spiritualize everything in the bible you can make it say anything you want it to say.....

It did just show his lack of knowledge of what the bible says..

Wow I did not catch this when I first read it, Good catch.

Like I always say...When you point the finger at someone you have three other fingers pointing right back at yourself.....seems the scriptures speak a lot to this problem......something about getting the beam out of your own eye before worrying about the splinter in the other guy's eye......

The Lord is coming, the context has to do with the proud who shall be made low, and those who humble themselves who shall be exalted. :)

Proverbs 16:19
Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Um no it does not. that is a MAJOR twisting of the word of God.

it says what it says, that the mountains and hills shall be torn down, and the valleys shall be lifted up. (God will change the face of the earth)

There is no allegory of people in this passage,

You know what dude...it actually has to do with JESUS and his path....Matthew 3:3 and Isaiah 40:3-4.....it has nothing to do with the prideful.....it is about preparing the people to receive the LORD...wake up dude and quit spiritualizing away the obvious truth so as to fit your theology!

Luke 3: Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Purely speaking of the return of Christ, when all flesh shall see his salvation.

James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble

No doubt and a direct quote applied to Isaiah 40:3-4 and tied to John the Baptist Matthew 3:1-3
