I got to a cool part of scripture today. It feels like an oasis after a lot of time figuring out altar sacrifices. It's this:
Num 6:23 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
Num 6:24 The LORD bless you and keep you;
Num 6:25 the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
Num 6:26 the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Num 6:27 "So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them."
Feels good, doesn't it? (Feel free to bask in it a bit.)
So I was checking out what my Dead Guys thought of it and Albert Barnes goes off and says this:
"From a Christian point of view, and comparing the counterpart benediction of 2Co_13:14, it is impossible not to see shadowed forth the doctrine of the Holy Trinity (compare Isa_6:3; Mat_28:19)."
Well, don't I feel dumb! Apparently it is possible for a Christian to miss that entirely when reading it. I did. And then I had to go back over it to see what I missed.
Oh yeah! Now I see it! Cool!
But, if I missed it so easily, I'm afraid I'm missing some of it still. So, feel free to take this as a teaching moment, a worship moment, a praise moment or a basking moment, but how do you see that showing the trinity? (I'm not going to answer now because I don't want to put ideas in other minds when I'm pretty sure you guys are able to put this is glorifying ways.)
