why would god chose to speak to us by prophets? if we look at every time of god's judgment, we find him sending at least one prophet to warn of the coming judgment, and to hold out the hand of peace to those who would accept his mercy. many times, the prophets, and their message, was misunderstood, ridiculed, scoffed at, and spurned.

why?

we just cannot believe that things are as the prophecy says. the words are too extreme, too judgmental, too final. we do not see that what is coming is so disastrous to make us stop and examine our ways, our hearts, our thoughts, everything about who and what we are in relationship to god. to stop, and turn around.

but the prophecy is never easy to accept. they are never in words of complete reason, at times seemingly fabrications, or extremely outrageous. and in the next sentence, right after proclaiming disaster after disaster, you find words of peace and hope.

generally, it does not make sense to us.

and that is just the point, it is not meant to make sense to our minds. prophecy is not directed at our minds, except to get them into a subservient position. prophecy is directed at our hearts, at our spirits, at where we relate with and fellowship with, god.

prophecy is god's heart, opened up for us to see.

God chose to speak to His people by means of prophets, now it is through the finished work of Christ (if you are comparing yourself to the OT prophets)

Ach well VW, Im sure you are happy being a prophet. but if you are go public with your prophecy instead of hiding behind a computer.

its never easy, is it? having our beliefs questioned is always hard to endure, and we strike out, with progressively stronger blows, at the one who is bringing the questions.

Here is the verse which shows the important role the new testament prophets played:

Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

hey, let's not get carried away! lol

to add to the discourse above, the prophet is never truly accepted. they are always seen as those who are deluded, confused, hurt and angry, mentally ill, or, demon possessed.

we are fast approaching the end of society as we know it. i do not have to be a prophet to know this, it is a self evident fact, to those who are not immersed in this society. we live in a world that is built of lies and delusions, a veritable house of cards, which would take but the smallest of pushes to topple the whole thing.

and the body of christ is unprepared for this and for everything that will result from this fall, because she is immersed in the world system, just like the rest of mankind.

when it comes, and it will come, (and to understand what it means will be sheer terror,) it will be much too late to find the security that god is offering us in the holy spirit.

that is the message that i have from god.

Lol VW, do you know what a prophet was and what their role was in God's plan of redemption?

But as I say, if you are a prophet, why are you hiding behind a computer and a Screen name and not going to where you think it needs to be heard.

After all do you think the prophets hid their names. and hid themselves and shouted behind a wall or some other hiding spot?

actually, i have not shouted. i have not hidden behind a wall. you do not know what i do other than what you see here in this forum, unless, like some others, who without a word of knowledge, or having ever meet me, have decided that i possess an injured personality. if the lord leads me to give these prophecies here, and if i am abiding by the rules of this forum, why do you feel so compelled to oppose me, personally? i constantly examine my heart, in the light of the holy spirit, and especially when someone attacks, or scorns, or tries to make me seem to be an unworthy source. and do you know what i hear? "of course you are unworthy, so do not answer, unless i lead you." i have not always obeyed, to my shame.

I have no problem in warning people and believe in warnings 100% / Lk 3:7, Acts 10:22,20:31, 1Cor 4:14, Col 1:28, Heb 11:7. I am going to go out on a limb here and mention something about a man of God I believe is the closest to being a real prophet in the church in the days that we live in.The gift that God has given this man and the fruit of his calling by God only validates him and not others who claim to be a prophet in the church. MS cool your jets and just hear me out. First I have never said in any post that I do not believe in the gifts of the Spirit or any gift that God has given to the church for the purpose described in Eph 4:11-15.

I do believe that Satan took advantage of the believers in Corinth because of their idolatry, their carnality and lack of of knowledge and doctrine of God's word. Through this advantage Satan was able to substitute certain gifts of the Spirit for hearing the preaching and teaching of the word and doctrine through men of God that were called by God to do so. This caused much confusion and the gifts were exalted above the word and believers used these gifts as a validation and confirmation of their spirituality and that was wrong and it caused division and much strife within that local body of believers. These believers were subjectively and emotionally oriented to Christ and the body because of their small capacity of faith.

The man is David Wilkerson, who wrote the book entitled 'The Vision' and has been condemned by many for his ministry and preaching that gives many warnings and admonitions to the church and body of Christ. I know that some of you are just about to faint, but pull up a chair so you won't get hurt when you do finally faint. He has a gift from God with much fruit, so there is no doubt about it. He does not exalt that gift over the leadership of the local church or the body of Christ in any given area. He may give warning in a charismatic way and point out specific things that are not godly but these are done through much prayer, observation and a grounding in the truth. I believe his calling is rare and it does not usurp the teachings of the scriptures in the local church.

If you can get hold of a copy of his book, just read it. Read 'The Cross and the Switchblade' as well. All of you that want to take this man to task for his many years of faithful work in the ministry , who has helped countless people with drug and sex addictions, the down and out, the troubled youth involved in gangs in some of the toughest neighborhoods and also building a church in NY, I suggest you examine his fruit first and then come to your conclusions second. You may find him to be a NT prophet and a man called by God to bear much fruit.

Hi Shad,

The cross and the switch blade is a classic and well worth anyone to read it. :), and you are correct about Paul's reason fro writing to the Corinthians the devil can lead people to think they are doing the right thing when infact they are not.

By reading all of VW's posts it can be seen that he has a higher regard for the inner voice he hears than the truth of Scripture.

David wilkerson was not frightened to make his call public.

If you VW feel that this is your calling so be it., if you are right go public, you warn the nations. you have warned us now take it to the world. or was it just fro the message board.

Jesus said a prophet has honor except in his own country.

It is probably because a person who is a prophet of the Lord the people will look at him and say you reside in the same country as us and have the same upbringing and teaching as us and you are going to tell us what the truth is concerning the future and we do not know.

I know there are prophets. God is talking to his people. Hes warning and giving last chances. Just think how nice it would be if people would just believe and God didn't have to go to such great dissaters to bring people to their knees.
