Is there anything in the bible against tattoos? I have a few, they are all very meaningful to me. One of them is a quote which has proven to be very inspirational. I don't see them as offensive or sinful.

Hold on; you're about to get crucified.

the only reference that comes close to this is :Lev 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
however the context of this seems its in reference to doing for the dead, however let each be persuaded in their own mind.

I saw a guy one time that had the cross and then Romans 10:9-10 on this arm. I told him it was great!

I dont see the apostles encouraging women to adorn themselves in that way, its worldly, minding the things of the flesh, being skin paint

Folks who love body paints have been around for many years

They arent so attractive as you age.

There are some women who get them just above their breast and then when it goes south it looks ridiculous.

Someone posted what verse is in the scriptures already.

I cant see Jesus with one

Can you imagine?

I think there are some legitimate reasons for why one would get a tattoo, like for instance, you were part of a gang. You should probably get that fixed ;) Or something vulgar from your past that should be covered. I think the main argument against tattoos has more to do with money. Tattoos are expensive!!

Luke 12:33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

James 5:1 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3
Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.

Matthew 6:19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Luke 16:11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

I have tattoos from my past. They are not attractive, but I won't be getting them fixed because there are many better things to do with God's money. There are so many people in need.

And our Lord is well-pleased too with that. He's doesn't have a religious mindset....

You are a child of God, nothing you have on your body will keep you from spending eternity with our heavenly father.

I can promise you mine are in appropriate places. One is a paw print because I'm a HUGE animal lover. I love all of Gods creatures and this represents that. The other is a Shakespeare quote, I'm a huge fan of his work. This quote is a sign of strength for myself. It says "though she be but little, she is fierce."

Now that is not attractive....

But what if he had the whole book of Ephesians on him and he went to jail in China for Christ?..the inmates could read the "word" off of him.....:)..now that is cool!

I wouldn’t get any more tattoos:

You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Lev 19:28 RSV

Philippians 3:21, "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

Mark your body up if you want, they're vile anyway and will be changed to be like Jesus Christ(without the tatoos).

Thank you resurrection. I believe this scripture is talking more about bodily mutilatiom though. I could definitely be wrong though.
