Throughout Gods word there is a constant reminder to keep doctrine in accordance with Gods Word. There are many who would simply omit whatever things don't fit their ideas, or really, the ideas of whatever false teacher they follow. The most prevelant false doctrine today in my view is this idea that the word Grace somehow covers right and wrong actions, negates obedience to God, ignores righteousness and sin. about 1900 years ago we were warned repeatedly to keep teaching the right things. In Gods word, we are warned not to add to, or remove what is written. we are told that false teachings will spread like gangrene through the church to the destruction of many. especially a doctrine that omits all of the fundamental points of the Gospel like repentance of sin, obedience to The truth of Jesus, baptism, ( Hebrews 6:1-2)ect. people are quick to omit what is required of them by Gods word, some will even go to the point of making what is written of little importance making the claim the bible is only a book, when it contains the message of salvation, the mind of God, life and death is contained in the Knowledge held in the bible.

remember that a deception isn't a blatant "worship the devil" message, but a deception will have an appearance of being right and good like a good illusion a false doctrine will have promises, out of context scripture that appears to support the idea, yet with what is written we have the only standard to test doctrine, if Jesus words must be omitted, or made less than Gods full authority to all men, you have a false doctrine. He is the truth, His words are the truth. He is the way, His ways are the way. He is the Life and His lessons are Life for a Christian, now, then and forever. be on guard against clever deceptions that deny the truth of Jesus and Hos Gospel. some scripture to remind you and warn us of the importance of doctrine, and also our behaviors importance rather than strange ideas, fantastic distortions and bold ommitals made into itching ear doctrines. to first accept what is there is the way rather than find thoughts of why Gods word is wrong according to deceptions that are so prevalent in the world and enticing to the nature of sin.....

2 thessalonians 1:5-10 "All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you."

don't let anyone distort this telling you there is no need to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. trust what is there and accept that repentance is part of the gospel and obedience is the result of true Grace. we need acceptance regardless of deceivers.

romans 2:5-11 "But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done. ”To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism."

don't allow Gods word to make no sense because of silly mans thinking, trust the truth from God.

revelation 22:12-16 "“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

don't let false doctrines confuse you and lead you astray. Gods design is perfect. it is false doctrine that leads astray from the simplicity of accepting what is plain. sure, the idea that it doesn't matter how we live is appealing to sinful mankind, but understand that we are repeatedly told that our deeds are the purpose if grace allows for disobedience it is the serpents "grace", if Gods Grace brings obedience to Jesus Christ front and center to your mind and heart, let it work in you feed on the word. when you accept that you need to honor what God has done for you through His SON Jesus Christ, praise God for His provision of righteousness that comes through His word, praise Him that you are well able to learn and follow Him because of His Grace and truth offered freely to those who truly believe Him. these 3 sets of verses concerning judgement and obedience are just a tip of the iceburg of what is there from beginning to end. Obedience to what is right is a gift offered through Faith in Jesus, through trusting Him. because God favors mankind so much He has offered freedom from sin.

don't let deception tell you that you are free from obedience, that is not from God, it is not of Christ Jesus His Only begotten Son. trust Jesus He is the Only way. so many are the deceptive ideas in a world designed to hide the light, and steal the Life offered freely to true Christians. Gods word doesn't need re design, doesn't need ommital of what sinful man thinks is harsh or demanding, we have to accept His design, because only His own design of salvation will work. so when you hear things like " we just believe" ask what to believe. when you hear " we just need to focus on the positive" take Gods commands as the most positive thing there is, they are Life eternal, that's pretty positive. and realize to deny them is death and destruction. Grace does NOT omit obedience to His commandments. they are Life, and the purpose of Grace is to bring you into obedience. when someone attempts to offer you a gospel that wont accept Jesus Gospel His commands, teachings, and ways reject it in favor of the truth. the eternal gospel? eternal meaning unchangeable, set in stone, everlasting.... from the old, to the new and forever.

ecclesiastes 12:13 "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind." this is before Christ......

revelation 14:6-7 "Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water

don't let people lead you away from God, revere Him who is all mighty, to fear Him is wise.

psalm 111:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever."

ecclesiastes 3:14 "I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him."

proverbs 1:7"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction."

understand and don't let "perfect Love casts out fear" out of context fool you. look deeper at what is there.....

1 john 5:2-3 "This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome....

the fear of God will lead us to obedience of His commands, when obedience has come there is no longer fear of Judgement, this is the purpose of Gods Grace. the worlds version of Grace doesn't remove fear, but perfecting Love for God, and also one another removes fear. be careful when someone is pitching a verse here and another there while omitting the context or the message will become distorted. it is wise to revere The Lord, and it is Life to Love and obey Him. it is folly to follow deception. there is One who is worthy of Trust and faith and whos teaching is perfect and complete, His name is Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God. you will find the truth in matthew, mark, luke and John. you wont need to learn Hebrew, Aramaic, greek...you will simply need to believe in the One who is worthy. believe Him.

All glory honor praise, power and every majesty belongs to God and to His Son Jesus Christ.

(ive taken someone I trusts advice and have become familiar with the ignore button to avoid the follishness that sometimes goes on here, decided to follow the teachings about having no more to do with the false teachers)

I agree with everything you said except most of it.

Why didn't you start with the last line first and you could've skipped the rest of it.

Doctrine, life and death and obedience.

Obedience in the New Covenant:

In loving God and others as Jesus says is the greatest commandment in the law in relation to obedience.

Obedience to me is a fruit of the life of Christ in our inner man. It is not the root. It's the love of God and the life of Christ manifesting Himself in and through us to a hurt and dying world and to our fellow brethren.

It is not necessarily something "we do to be" but stems from something we "already are now" in Him and so we "do love" as we grow in our awareness of His love for us.

We obey our Lord and Father because we know Him and trust in His character and obedience is not a set of rules that we follow, but a natural flow of the life of God in us built on a love-trust relationship. When you know the love of God for us we will obey Him naturally and effortlessly.

When our minds are renewed to the truth that is in Christ - we obey from our hearts effortlessly. It's a fruit of being "in Christ."

I maintain that obedience is a fruit of the life of Christ in our inner man that is created in Christ. When we teach the grace of God this enables us to bear His fruit in and through us to reflect the true kingdom of the love and grace of God to a hurt and dying world.

Teach and preach who believers are in Christ because we are in union in one spirit with the Lord Jesus and they will "awake to righteousness" that is in them because they are a new creation in Him and sin not and walk in the good works that God has prepared for them.

Jesus is our life. We are in Him ad He is in us through the Holy Spirit in our new creation that is in Christ. For we have died and our life is hidden with Christ in God. Col. 3:3 That is our doctrine, life and death. We died with Christ and we rose from the dead with Christ and now we are alive to God through Him alone.

I think the point of the OP is that all above the line "Trust Jesus Christ and all will be will with you" is part of trusting in Jesus Christ :)

EEEEVVERY time I read these type posts from the Grace PLUS works for or to maintain salvation crowd, Romans 3:8 pops in my mind:

8 And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.

I Pray the Lord reveals their error.

This all seems right. The problems seem to come when people say we no longer need to obey God's commandments because Christ have done away with them because of He's grace. Using this as an excuse to sin and not do what God commands for He's people. Like for example saying they don't need to keep the sabbath (4th commandment), or they can be homosexuals or use grace as an excuse to continue to eat swines flesh.

Just what are God's commands? John tells us exactly what they are in the "New Covenant" in 1 John 3:23

1 John 3:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] This is His commandment,
that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

Believing in the name of His Son Jesus Christ - means to believe in everything He has already done for us in His death and resurrection - that we too have died with Christ and rose again to newness of life.

People "keep the Sabbath" by resting in Christ's finished works. Everything in the Law was a shadow of the real thing which is Christ - Himself living in us now. Going back to the Law for living is deserting the Lord Jesus Christ.

As far as people using grace to live a lifestyle of sin - they are not in grace at all no matter what they say. Grace changes us.

There are 2 aspects to grace
. The very first thing that Jesus does with the woman caught in adultery is that He gets rid of her accusers - the religious Pharisees that wanted to condemn her because the "bible" said so in the Old Covenant...she was to be stoned. (
the law condemns us )

Jesus was the only one qualified to condemn her but He didn't.

1) acceptance grace - which has nothing to do with our behavior -
as seen with the woman caught in adultery. Our Lord beautifully says " I do not condemn you".

It is in knowing you are not condemned that releases the other aspect of grace.

2) now, go and sin no more - this is empowering grace.

Empowering grace enables you to be who the Father sees you are in Christ now because you are a new creation in Him.

The religious mindset says to the woman caught in adultery - 'Do not sin and we will not condemn you."

The grace of God and the blood of Jesus speaks of better things in this New Covenant of grace!

"Knowing" that we are not condemned in Christ "releases" the life of the empowering grace to transform us. It's all about Christ! It's His fruit being manifested in us!

Acceptance grace which is not based on our behavior needs to be cemented in our hearts before empowering grace is able to be manifested.

What believers in a self-effort/self-performance D.I.Y. holiness/righteousness based mindset and the self-appointed "fruit inspectors" have a very hard time with is the "acceptance grace" part...this just drives them nuts...and I understand why..it is scandalous and it "conflicts" with their religious man-made traditions.

So teach them correctly about grace, but don't give them more of what is the power of their sin already.

Trust Jesus Christ and all will be well with you.[SUB][/SUB][SUB][/SUB]

Hey. I was already rebuked for a similar comment when I had said his last sentence was sufficient, and the kind rebuker said the whole rest of the post was an explanation of the last line. So I joked that I should have read it. (I already had) (3hours of my life I'll never get back, lol)

Beside all of the multitude of true comments, I would just also add that the Lord Jesus made it clear that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for Christ tells us plainly that God did not say that "I was" but "I am" the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. (Matthew 22:32)
Also Christ made it clear for those that truly follow Him that they have "passed from death unto life" (John 5:24) and the Apostle John also repeated this in (1 John 3:14)

To believe on Jesus Christ as the son of God and to love one another is not the only thing that Jesus teaches and is not the only thing the NT is about.

Also to believe on Jesus Christ is also to believe on what he said and taught in the NT, which includes repenting of your sins and living holy lives. The bible is very clear that sin is the transgression of the law and Jesus told those who believe on Him to repent of their sins and follow the law and do the law and teach others to do the same. Just because Jesus gave us commandments to believe on Him and to love one another does not omit any of He's teachings, rather it upholds everything he taught.

Yes Jesus was merciful to the woman of adultery. But also if you know the law you would know that it would be illegal for them to take her to Jesus to stone her.
