[h=1]2 Corinthians 7:8-16King James Version (KJV)[/h]8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14 For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

I believe repentance for salvation Is needed only once and after that, a person should renew their minds to the new creation they have become and be aware of their right standing before GOD.

IMO,the person should repent as needed to their neighbor, but only once to GOD.

the only question then i have for you is Paul wrote this to believers for there continued sin, was it to God, him, or another they were in need of repenting.

I will give a scripture
Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto GOD, which is your reasonable service.

2.) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD.

living sacrifices tend to want to crawl off the alter. i will agree that we only need to repent once for salvation, and it is only by the strength of God that we can repent. I just ask this cause some i know that talk about grace and salvation without the repentance.

I believe repentance is a life-long way of life as we get more revelation of the nature and work of Christ and the Father for us. This repentance is a change of our thinking towards these new truths that we see and yes it includes our view of sinning as well as all the other facets of the knowledge of the Lord.

Stopping sinning is a fruit of having already repented to trust in Christ's grace through faith in His finished work on the cross and resurrection as we rely on His life to manifest within us to reflect outwardly what happened to us in our new creation in Christ.

We are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Romans 12:2. We are transformed by the Holy Spirit as we behold the glory ( goodness ) of the Lord as in a mirror. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

Acts 11:18

"When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”"
like that, care to explain your view?

Good discussion. I believe that we only have one salvation experience, but we have seasons of repentance after conversion. I believe repentance to be a changing or renewing of one's mind or outlook. This change in perspective ( aligning our outlook to Christ's ) produces the desire to live differently and the resolve to be different. We don't accomplish the change in our own strength. I see the resolve as the determination to seek God for grace to change and to resist temptation.

REV. 3:1-2-3-4-5-6.
And unto the angel of the Church in Sardis write; These things saith He that hath the seven Spirits of God,
and the seven stars; I know your works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found
your works perfect before God.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent.
If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know
what hour I will come upon you.

Thou have a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments;
and they shall walk with Me in white: for they are worthy.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name
out of The Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

good post.
I personally need to repent every day. every day I fall frighteningly short.

Lamentations 3
22The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. 23They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."…

Good point also (every morning) . Even when we are asleep he is active healing our damaged emotions. He does not awaken his love in us needed to move forward that day, until he desires so.

Psa 139:18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, "I am still with thee."
