The person who says they are saved and who lives any way they want is not born again.
"By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother."-1 John 3:10
Grace does not abound to the person who lives any way they want. They show that they do not have the grace of God in salvation. John said so.
The presence of abundant grace is seen in a turning away from sin, not in a living in sin. Paul said do not be deceived. People who live in sin will not inherit the kingdom.
I am shocked that you finally made a statement that I can agree with. Here is the reasons:
NOTICE in the verse you Quoted, it says PRACTICE; and everyone knows that if you continue to PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS, you will get better, and better at it. I understand that SALVATION of the human spirit, happens at the moment we first believed, HOWEVER the SANCTIFICATION of the Human Body is a LIFELONG STRUGGLE, of becoming more and more like HIM. AND IT WILL NOT BE COMPLETE UNTIL:
Romans 6:5 (GW)
[SUP]
5 [/SUP] If we've become united with him in a death like his,
certainly we will also be united with him when we come back to life as he did.
Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV)
[SUP]
20 [/SUP] But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
[SUP]
21 [/SUP]
who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
1 John 3:2-5 (ESV)
[SUP]
2 [/SUP] Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but
we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
[SUP]
3 [/SUP] And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP] Everyone who makes
a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP] You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
We will not be PERFECTLY LIKE HIM, until we have that Resurrected Body, BUT UNTIL THEN, we are the ONES who PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS, try to get BETTER AT IT. And when we fail, we confess it as sin WILLFULLY, and get back up to continue
your practice righteousness. THAT IS CALLED SANCTIFICATION OF THE BODY, not Salvation.
SALVATION was the instant that the HOLY SPIRIT enterered our human spirit, birthing it into Eternal Life, John 3:6, and Pouring GOD's LOVE into our hearts, Rom. 5:5.
That is WHY, he can say this without it being A CONTRADITION:
John 11:26 (ESV)
[SUP]
26 [/SUP]
and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 6:47 (CSBBible)
[SUP]
47[/SUP]
"Truly I tell you, anyone who believes has eternal life.
So, how do we accomplish the SANCTIFICATION of our Bodies:
1 Corinthians 15:31 (NASB)
[SUP]
31 [/SUP] I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord,
I die daily.
Luke 9:23 (HCSB)
[SUP]
23 [/SUP]
Then He said to ⌊them⌋ all, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
WE SACRIFICE SELFISH DESIRES, to accomplish HIS WILL FOR OUR LIVES.
In doing so, we are practicing righteousness. AND IF WE PRACTICE, WE WILL GET BETTER.
And when we do fail, we CONFESS IT IMMEDIATELY, and GET BACK UP TO CONTINUE TO PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Think you have no sin? Guess again:
Romans 14:23 (KJV)
[SUP]
23 [/SUP] And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because
he eateth not of faith:
for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
1 John 1:6-10 (HCSB)
[SUP]
6 [/SUP] If we say, “We have fellowship with Him,” yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP] But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP] If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[SUP]
10 [/SUP] If we say, “We don’t have any sin,” we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
What if we have an obvious pretend Christian in our Church, who does not practice righteousness?
JESUS SAID TO LEAVE HIM THERE, because you cannot tell if it is a BABY Christian just learning to walk, or if it true unbeliever, that will eventually learn what it is to be a real Christian. Remember FAITH COMES BY HEARING.
