In a nutshell. God rules with fear. If we behave badly we will be burned. Sounds like a sin focused gospel vs a love focused gospel. Doesn't jive. Hope this pastor doesn't rule over his kids with fear.

I don't know it's up to you to read and see if God will open your mind to examine yourself to see if you have fallen for false teachings on grace. If you haven't, well good if you have then what will you do. If you see this as false doctrine then that's okay it's your life and your free to believe what you want.

Isnt grace unmerited favor? i.e: you dont deserve it? Nothing you can do to earn it?

If you say so. If you mean fear by dealing with a want to do right then you would be right to honor God then your right.

Romans 7
13Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure. 14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold under sin. 15For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. 17So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. 18For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

21So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

I think I will go with what the Bible says. IT says we are saved by grace. not given the chance to get saved. saved.
So we have no choice in the matter?

Sin-consciousness is the fuel for the engine of religion. Religion hates the message of the grace of God in Christ because it disqualifies their actions.

Where sin abounds....GRACE did much more abound....funny how grace gets chunked around like a ball and kicked away for a foul....

Grace is a position and represents positioning....

IN the grace you are HAVING BEEN SAVED out of faith, and that NOT of yourself, it is the GIFT of GOD, not of works least any man should boast....<---Not of yourself is directed at faith....

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
