Hi All,

What do people know about the Noahide Laws? When you read up about the Mosaic Law 10 commandments and the other 600 odd laws given to Moses and the Israelites there appeared to be a moral code prior to Moses which Jews referred to as the Noahide Law for Gentiles. Which would kinda make sense as people prior to Moses didn't have the commandments. Interestingly most of the 10 commandments seem to fall into the Noahide laws apart from remember the Sabbath.

Anyway, just posting to see what people's thoughts on this are..

An incipient form of contemporary Noahide laws can be seen in Acts 15. In that controversy that pitted those who maintained that gentiles were justified solely by faith against those who claimed that gentiles must become circumcised and submit to the law of Moses, James, the head of the church in Jerusalem, ruled that gentiles were justified solely by faith and were not under the law of Moses. This judgment aligned with the Jewish belief that gentiles were not under the law of Moses, but were under the law of Noah.

James decision did not bind gentiles to obey the imagined law of Noah, but, IMO, was simply a sensible judgment to keep them from offending "those who proclaim [Moses] in every city from ancient generations, because he is read aloud in the synagogues on every Sabbath.” (Acts 15:21), who did believe in the laws of Noah, and creating a stumbling block to the Jews regarding the gospel, and opening the opportunity for the Jews to persecute them.

Thanks that makes sense and helps me understand exactly why Paul a devout Jew was talking to the Gentile believers not to be circumcised. It's great when you grapple enough with the word and do a little investigation you end up with the answers. Shame that there are gentile christians out there who want to be bound by the Old Mosaic covenant!

Even though these laws are not written in our bible as the laws given to Noah, the Jews believed that they were given to him by God. They had histories at that time where these laws were written.

Peter and Paul convinced the Christian Jews that the gentiles did not need to follow all that God had given the Jews to help them learn of Him and live for Him. These basic points were necessary for the gentiles to be allowed in the synagogues, the only place they could go to hear scripture. Scripture, at that time, did not include the NT as we know it.

In Judaism, the Seven Laws of Noah (Hebrew: שבע מצוות בני נח‎ Sheva mitzvot B'nei Noach), or the Noahide Laws, are a set of moral imperatives that, according to the Talmud, were given by God[1] as a binding set of laws for the "children of Noah" – that is, all of humankind.[2][3]

According to Judaism, any non-Jew who adheres to these laws is regarded as a righteous gentile, and is assured of a place in the World to Come (Hebrew: עולם הבא‎ Olam Haba), the final reward of the righteous.[4][5] Adherents are often called "B'nei Noach" (Children of Noah) or "Noahides," and may sometimes network in Jewish synagogues.[citation needed]

The seven laws listed by the Tosefta and the Talmud are:[6]

The prohibition of Idolatry.
The prohibition of Murder.
The prohibition of Theft.
The prohibition of Sexual immorality.
The prohibition of Blasphemy.
The prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive.
The requirement of maintaining courts to provide legal recourse.

The Noahide laws comprise the six commandments which were given to Adam in the Garden of Eden, according to the Talmud's interpretation of Gen 2:16,[7] and a seventh precept, which was added after the Flood of Noah. According to Judaism, the 613 commandments given in the written Torah, as well as their explanations and applications discussed in the oral Torah, are applicable to the Jews only, and non-Jews are bound only to observe the seven Noahide laws.

....

Punishment

The Talmud laid down the statutory punishment for transgressing any one of the Seven Laws of Noah (but not other parts of the Noahide code) as capital punishment [22] by decapitation, which is considered one of the lightest[23] of the four modes of execution of criminals. According to some opinions, punishment is the same whether the individual transgresses with knowledge of the law or is ignorant of the law.[24]

Modern Times

Modern views
Some modern views hold that penalties are a detail of the Noahide Laws and that Noahides themselves must determine the details of their own laws for themselves. According to this school of thought – see N. Rakover, Law and the Noahides (1998); M. Dallen, The Rainbow Covenant (2003) – the Noahide Laws offer mankind a set of absolute values and a framework for righteousness and justice, while the detailed laws that are currently on the books of the world's states and nations are presumptively valid.

The Seven Noahide laws - a brief outline

by Rabbi Oury Cherki
Posted Tuesday, 29 March 2011

According to Judaism,
a Noahide is obligated
to keep seven basic commandments

The Seven Noahide Laws:

1) Prohibition of Idolatry
2) Prohibition of Blasphemy
3) Prohibition of Bloodshed
4) Prohibition of Sexual Immorality
5) Prohibition of Theft
6) Prohibition of Eating Flesh from a Living Animal
7) Requirement to Establish a Just Legal System

These Seven Laws can be divided up into several groups:

The first two laws deal with the relationship between Man and G-d.
The next two commandments deal with the realm between Man and Man.
The fifth and sixth commandments deal with the realm of character traits, between Man and Himself.
The last commandment, to establish just courts, is meant to create the social framework necessary for implementing these commandments.

According to this division, the Torah of Israel demands that the Noahide should mend his ways in three areas of his existence: the theological, the social, and that of the soul.

1. Idolatry
A Noahide is prohibited from engaging in pagan worship. It should be noted that there is no positive commandment for a Noahide to believe in the existence of G-d, rather the definition is a negative one. Aspects of this prohibition include: prayer, sacrifice, burning of incense, libation offerings, prostration, and any other act of worship that is customary for that idol.

Rejection of idolatry is considered a great virtue, so much so that our Sages stated (Megilla 13a): "He who rejects idolatry is called a Jew."

The importance of this law lies in the fact that idolatry enslaves man to nature, while service of G-d brings one into an encounter with the source of his life, thus rendering him free. Also, a multiplicity of deities harms the internal harmony of the psyche, forcing one to choose one value over the others – such as love, judgment, peace, truth, justice, or beauty – while monotheistic belief makes peace between all of the values together.

Sanhedrin of the Way
A Global Association of Orthodox Jewish Rabbis in Messiah Yeshua

Welcome to home of the Sanhedrin of the Way, a global leadership core of orthodox Jewish rabbis and their disciples of Yeshua the Messiah.

We are frum, haredi, even Chassidic, orthodox Jews who believe that Yeshua ben Yoseph mi’Netzaret, HaNotzri, is the Mashiach. We follow halacha, and recognize the authority of the Sages, and believe in both the written and the oral Torah. We also submit to the Nascent Sanhedrin on issues that do not contradict clear obedience to Yeshua (Yehoshua) HaMashiach. We are not “Messianic Jews” – we are simply Jews, frum, orthodox, haredi (many of us are Chassidic) Jews, because all Jews are looking eagerly for Mashiach to appear, and we hope you are too.

Beit Din

Go to Sanhedrin.org

Within the Jewish sect of HaDerech there exists a great need to provide disciples of Yeshua ben Yoseph mi’Netzaret with an halichic means to convert to orthodox Judaism, and thus be recognized as orthodox Jewish converts by the global body of believers, and all Israel, without having to deny that Yeshua is the Messiah.

In addition, there also exists a great need to build up qualified rabbinic leaders in “Messianic Judaism” with recognized orthodox Jewish smicha. Such smicha should not be given lightly and should meet or exceed current rabbinic qualifications so that believing communities and leaders are not found to be without a solid defense for their identity and responsibilities to Torah. If such a leader is found to be lacking, then free education should be offered to the leader who so chooses to serve HaShem as a rabbi, and such discipleship should be encouraged among all believers.

The orthodox Jewish believers at JerusalemCouncil.org hope to establish a “Messianic Sanhedrin” – a global Torah academy with the aim of establishing a beit din to be a fully functional orthodox Jewish rabbinical court that will be the first of many reproduced worldwide. It is the goal of the Jerusalem Council vision to establish such a Sanhedrin with the most qualified rabbis of our generation, and we ask that those who are interested in helping us establish this service to consider joining us today and turning this dream into a reality.

It is our hope that the establishment of orthodox Jewish battai din made up of believers will help play a small part in HaShem “restoring our judges as in earliest times and our counselors as at first.” If you can help with this goal, we invite you to join us today!

Until the Sanhedrin of the Way is formally instituted, you can find a number of battai din who ascribe to the JerusalemCouncil.org vision on our Knesset page.

Galatians 1
No Other Gospel

6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

10For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servantb of Christ.

Galatians 4
By Faith, or by Works of the Law?

1O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected bya the flesh? 4Did you sufferb so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— 6just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?

7Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justifyc the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” 9So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
10For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” 11Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”d 12But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” 13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— 14so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirite through faith.

The Law and the Promise
15To give a human example, brothers:f even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified. 16Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. 17This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. 18For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.

19Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary. 20Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.

21Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

23Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. 24So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. 25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slaveg nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.

yep...i know what you meant.
just adding to the thread.
there's nothing wrong with being a jew.
nor a christian who was raised in judasim but came out.

the problem is the claim that christians are under The Pharisees (unbelieving jewish religious leaders) in any way shape or form.

christianity and judaism are antithetical.
it's one or the other.

the Papacy doesn't seem to agree these days:

COMMISSION FOR RELIGIOUS RELATIONS WITH THE JEWS

THE DELEGATION OF THE HOLY SEE'S COMMISSION
FOR RELIGIOUS RELATIONS WITH THE JEWS
AND THE CHIEF RABBINATE OF ISRAEL'S DELEGATION
FOR RELATIONS WITH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

BILATERAL COMMISSION MEETING

Jerusalem, March 11-13, 2007; Adar 21-23, 5767

2. The subject of the meeting was the Freedom of Religion and Conscience and its Limits. The human capacity to choose is a manifestation of the Divine Image in which all people are created (cf. Gn 1: 26-27) and is foundational for the Biblical concept of human responsibility and Divine justice (cf. Dt 30: 19).

3. God has created the human person as a social being which by definition places limits on individual human freedom. Moreover freedom of choice is derived from God and therefore is not absolute, but must reflect Divine will and law. Accordingly human beings are called to freely obey the Divine will as manifested in the Creation and in His revealed word.

Jewish tradition emphasizes the Noachide Covenant (cf. Gn 9: 9-12) as containing. the universal moral code which is incumbent on all humanity. This idea is reflected in Christian Scripture in the Book of Acts 15: 28-29.

4. Accordingly the idea of moral relativism is antithetical to this religious world view and poses a serious threat to humanity. Even though the Enlightenment helped bring about a purification from the abuse of religion, secular society still requires religious foundations to sustain lasting moral values. Critical among these is the principal of the sanctity of human life and dignity. Ethical monotheism affirms these as inviolable human rights and therefore can provide inspiration in this regard for society at large.

no, pope....Acts 15:28-29 is not approving the Noahide Laws, and is not establishing a universal moral code which is incumbent on all humanity. < [recall Talmudic Judaism's definition - all non-jews must obey the Noahide Laws - all humanity excludes jews according to the Noahide Laws]

Diplomats, Delegates, and Rabbi’s Gather at UN Headquarters for “One People, One World” Conference

UNITED NATIONS, New York (June 10, 2013) – On the heels of 3 Tammuz, members of the UN Diplomatic corps, UN Press Officers, and other officials gathered at the UN headquarters in New York to learn how the Seven Noahide Laws must play a key role in international efforts for world peace.

“On this day, people from all over the world gathered on behalf of the Laws of Noah,” said Rabbi Yakov D. Cohen, head of the Institute of Noahide Code, which sponsored the conference. “Their observance is required, so that the vision of the United Nations—to have a settled and civilized world, filled with economic justice and righteousness—will prevail.”

Titled “One People, One World,” the conference brought together journalists, diplomats, and delegates from countries across the globe – including Egypt and Israel. Guests of honor from the UN Diplomatic Corps also signed a “Declaration of the Seven Laws of Noah,” which emphasized the importance of the Seven Noahide Laws in maintaining peace, justice, and harmony among peoples and nations.

In his remarks at the event, Rabbi Cohen discussed how monotheism – uniting the world under the one true G-d – is essential for breaking down barriers between cultures. Looking around the room – filled with faces reflecting the diversity of the United Nations itself – Rabbi Cohen insisted that we must work together in bringing the international community to a higher level of spiritual understanding of man’s place in the universe.

Other speakers at the event included Cartell Gore, President of the Booker T. Washington Business League, and Richard Dawson, Director of Dawson Associates International, who insisted that all Jews are obligated to teach the Seven Noahide Laws.

In addition to prohibiting idolatry, the Noahide code also forbids blasphemy, forbidden sexual relationships, murder, theft, and cruelty to animals. It also commands its followers to implement orderly processes of justice.

The Institute of Noahide Code is a UN-accredited NGO dedicated to spreading awareness of the Seven Noahide Laws, which all peoples of the world are obligated to follow. It takes its guidance from the inspiring vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who understood the inherent power of these laws to unite the nations of the world.

then the big event that ushers in the new worl....uh.....whatever....happens on 911.
k.

but:

New World Order (conspiracy theory)
As a conspiracy theory, the term New World Order or NWO refers to the emergence of a totalitarian one-world government.[3][4][5][6][7]

The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which replaces sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda that ideologizes its establishment as the culmination of history's progress. Significant occurrences in politics and finance are speculated to be orchestrated by an unduly influential cabal operating through many front organizations. Numerous historical and current events are seen as steps in an on-going plot to achieve world domination through secret political gatherings and decision-making processes.[3][4][5][6][7]

there's no new world order thingee.
i must have cooked up that video just 5 minutes ago, since:

Prior to the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two American countercultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right, and secondarily fundamentalist Christians concerned with end-time emergence of the Antichrist.[8] Skeptics, such as Michael Barkun and Chip Berlet, have observed that right-wing populist conspiracy theories about a New World Order have now not only been embraced by many seekers of stigmatized knowledge but have seeped into popular culture, thereby inaugurating an unrivaled period of people actively preparing for apocalyptic millenarian scenarios in the United States of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.[4][6] These political scientists are concerned that this mass hysteria could have what they judge to be devastating effects on American political life, ranging from widespread political alienation to escalating lone-wolf terrorism.[4][6]

Proclamation 5956 - Education Day, U.S.A., 1989 and 1990
April 14, 1989

By the President of the United States of America

A Proclamation

Ethical values are the foundation for civilized society. A society that fails to recognize or adhere to them cannot endure.

The principles of moral and ethical conduct that have formed the basis for all civilizations come to us, in part, from the centuries-old Seven Noahide Laws. The Noahide Laws are actually seven commandments given to man by God, as recorded in the Old Testament. These commandments include prohibitions against murder, robbery, adultery, blasphemy, and greed, as well as the positive order to establish courts of justice.

Through the leadership of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson and the worldwide Lubavitch movement, the Noahide Law -- and standards of conduct duly derived from them -- have been promulgated around the globe.

It is fitting that we honor Rabbi Schneerson and acknowledge his important contributions to society. Our great Nation takes just pride in its dedication to the principles of justice, equality, and truth. Americans also understand that we have a responsibility to inspire the same dedication in future generations. We owe a tremendous debt to Rabbi Schneerson and to all those who promote education that embraces moral and ethical values and emphasizes their importance.

In recognition of Rabbi Schneerson's vital efforts, and in celebration of his 87th birthday, the Congress, by House Joint Resolution 173, has designated April 16, 1989, and April 6, 1990, as "Education Day, U.S.A." and has authorized and requested the President to issue an appropriate proclamation in observance of these days.

Now, Therefore, I, George Bush, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim April 16, 1989, and April 6, 1990, as Education Day, U.S.A. I invite Governors from every State and Territory, community leaders, teachers, and all Americans to observe these days through appropriate events and activities.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirteenth.

H.J.RES.104 -- To designate March 26, 1991, as `Education Day, U.S.A.'. (Enrolled Bill [Final as Passed Both House and Senate] - ENR)

--H.J.Res.104--

H.J.Res.104

One Hundred Second Congress of the United States of America

AT THE FIRST SESSION
Begun and held at the City of Washington on Thursday, the third day of January,

one thousand nine hundred and ninety-one

Joint Resolution

To designate March 26, 1991, as `Education Day, U.S.A.'.

Whereas Congress recognizes the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our great Nation was founded;

Whereas these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws;

Whereas without these ethical values and principles the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos;

Whereas society is profoundly concerned with the recent weakening of these principles that has resulted in crises that beleaguer and threaten the fabric of civilized society;

Whereas the justified preoccupation with these crises must not let the citizens of this Nation lose sight of their responsibility to transmit these historical ethical values from our distinguished past to the generations of the future;

Whereas the Lubavitch movement has fostered and promoted these ethical values and principles throughout the world;

Whereas Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement, is universally respected and revered and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991;

Whereas in tribute to this great spiritual leader, `the rebbe', this, his ninetieth year will be seen as one of `education and giving', the year in which we turn to education and charity to return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven Noahide Laws; and

Whereas this will be reflected in an international scroll of honor signed by the President of the United States and other heads of state: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That March 26, 1991, the start of the ninetieth year of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the worldwide Lubavitch movement, is designated as `Education Day, U.S.A.'. The President is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Vice President of the United States and

President of the Senate.

oh....the United States was founded on the Noahide Laws, according to Congress.
isn't that what it CLEARLY says?
is it clearly in the Congressional Record, as LAW, that.....

well...what happens if people aren't obeying these Laws?

Whereas without these ethical values and principles the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos;

returning to chaos? wait....LOGOS is ORDER, not chaos.

what emerges out of chaos?

Order Out Of Chaos Or In Old Latin "Ordo Ab Chao"

A Latin expression, meaning Order out of Chaos. A motto of the Thirty-third Degree, and having the same allusion as lug e tenebris, which see in this work. The invention of this motto is to be attributed to the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite"

"Noahides describe themselves as people who have embraced the Seven Laws of Noah as set out in the Torah and the Tractate Sanhedrin of the Talmud. Jewish Law defines them either as Bnei Noach or Gerim Toshavim. Almost all of the modern-day Noahides are former fundamentalist Christians who have rejected Christianity and the divinity of Jesus..."

No I meant thank you Zone for being informative I don't want to be a Jew. I follow Christ.
There is absolutely nothing in scripture that says that following Christ has anything at all about being a Jew. Jews are a race God created to be set apart to be taught about Him. Christ was born into this race. They are blinded to understanding that Christ was the Messiah. We are to respect them because God used them and is using them for our sakes. These things have nothing to do with your following Christ. We are required to do nothing about them except respect them, God is handling it.

We are not “Messianic Jews” – we are simply Jews, frum, orthodox, haredi (many of us are Chassidic) Jews, because all Jews are looking eagerly for Mashiach to appear, and we hope you are too.

example (Folio 56a):

Our Rabbis taught: [Any man that curseth his God, shall bear his sin.21 It would have been sufficient to say], 'A man, etc:' What is taught by the expression any man?22 The inclusion of heathens, to whom blasphemy is prohibited just as to Israelites, and they are executed by decapitation; for every death penalty decreed for the sons of Noah is only by decapitation.23

Now, is [the prohibition of blasphemy to heathens] deduced from this verse? But it is deduced from another, viz., The Lord, referring to the 'blessing' of the Divine Name.24 — R. Isaac the smith25 replied; This phrase ['any man'] is necessary only as teaching the inclusion of substitutes of God's name,26 and the Baraitha is taught in accordance with R. Meir's views For it has been taught: Any man that curseth his God shall bear his sin.27 Why is this written? Has it not already been stated, And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death?28 Because it is stated, And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death, I might think that death is meted out only when the ineffable Name is employed. Whence do I know that all substitutes [of the ineffable Name] are included [in this law]? From the verse, Any man that curseth his God — shewing culpability for any manner of blasphemy [even without uttering the Name, since the Name is not mentioned in this sentence]: this is the view of R. Meir. But the Sages maintain: [Blasphemy] with use of the ineffable Name, is punishable by death: with the employment of substitutes, it is the object of an injunction. [but not punishable by death].

This view [of R. Isaac the smith] conflicts with that of R. Miyasha; for R. Miyasha said: If a heathen [son of Noah] blasphemed, employing substitutes of the ineffable Name, he is in the opinion of the Sages punishable by death. Why so? — Because it is written, as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land [when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death].29 This teaches that only the stranger [i.e.. a proselyte], and the native [i.e., a natural born Israelite] must utter the ineffable Name; but the heathen is punishable even for a substitute only. But how does R. Meir interpret the verse, 'as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land'? — It teaches that the stranger and citizen are stoned, but a heathen is decapitated. For I would think, since they are included [in the prohibition], they are included [in the manner of execution too]: hence we are taught otherwise. Now how does R. Isaac the smith interpret the verse, 'as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land', on the view of the Rabbis?30 — It teaches that only a stranger and a native must revile the Name by the Name, but for a heathen this is unnecessary. Why does the Torah state any man?31 — The Torah employed normal human speech.32

Our Rabbis taught: seven precepts were the sons of Noah commanded: social laws;33 to refrain from blasphemy, idolatry; adultery; bloodshed; robbery; and eating flesh cut from a living animal.34

so how likely is it we are going to be encouraged to call upon the Name of Jesus?

According to scripture, can we say that Jews were a race? We have to remember that Jews /= Children of Israel. Come to think about it, Abraham wasn't a Jew, neither Isaac nor Jacob. The word went from describing those from a specific lineage or living in a region to those that followed a religion...

These things have nothing to do with your following Christ.

Matthew 16:6
Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Matthew 16:12
11"How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees." 12Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

do you have a problem with Christians knowing what Jesus was talking about, RedTent?
