A PICTORAL ESSAY OF GOD’S SALVATION PLAN
John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Matthew 23:25) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 .) Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Before we Come to Christ, our lives are as a dirty glass full of sin, and we are as “filthy rags” in the eyes of God.

Isaiah 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

When the Holy Spirit moves upon our hearts, and convicts us of our sin-filled lives, and we bow down with a sincere and contrite heart to confess our sins, and call upon the Name of Jesus to come into our lives………

The precious blood of Jesus, shed on Calvary’s Cross, is applied to our hearts, and washes us clean of our sins.

Hebrews 9:22 “Without the shedding of blood, there is
no remission of sins.”

1 John 1:7″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.”

Revelation 7:14) And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

THIS IS THE POINT OF OUR SALVATION

Now we must begin our walk with Christ in obedience to His Commandments. The first act is Water Baptism.

Matthew 28:16) Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 .) And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 .) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 .) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 .) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Acts 2:36) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 .) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 .) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 .) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR OUR SANCTIFICATION
(receiving the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, and ALL that He will impart to us……..gifts, understanding, and the ability to do good works that are a fruit of our salvation, in accordance with God’s Will for our lives)

Acts 8:14) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 .) Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 .) (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 .) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19:1) And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 .) He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 .) And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 .) Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 .) When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 .) And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

We have now become blood bought, born again, saved, sanctified believers worthy to be called the sons of God, and brothers in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

On this journey, we begin as little children who supp on milk and honey,

but as we grow into mature believers walking obedient to Him, we become able to feast on the meat of His Holy Word.

This reminds me of something I heard awhile ago which touched me.

lets see another picture.

My sin is represented by urine (Yeah I know gross. But this is how God sees sin)

On the one hand, We have an evil person who stands before God. And God says, ok what do you have for me. He hands God a cup which represents his life. Most of the cup is urine.

On the other hand, we see the pharisees, the lawyers, and the do gooders.

When they stand in front of God. they hand him a cup which has a small amount of urine in it.

No the question is. Would anyone drink from any of these cups as a gift to pay for their sins?

The fact is, It does not matter if their is a whole lot of filth, or just a tiny bit of filth, It is still sickening and makes it useless

Unless our glasses (as you said) have been purified by the blood of the lamb. We have no hope. No matter how good you may think you are. You are still stained

i would only like to point out, that Cornelius was not told to repent and be baptised. before getting the holy spirit. it was after it he was told to be baptised with water. peter also ministered to the jewish people. hence, what john the baptised said, repent and be baptised. when jesus and john the Baptist were sent to a jewish people first. pointing to jewish and gentiles.
and there relationship to the law of moses.
god so loved the world etc point more to cornelious and how he received the holy spirit.

believing without seeing.
