The Day of the Lord is HERE NOW. God is telling us to turn from all sin and cry out to Him DAY AND NIGHT. This is the ONLY way -- there is NO OTHER WAY. If we hang on to this world, we will be destroyed along with this world. The judgment of God is not something we should take lightly. Many say they believe in God's judgments, but they live their life as if somehow God will overlook their sin because after all, it's once saved always saved, or God has used me as a prophet, teacher, pastor or laymen. God is no respecter of persons. Those that commit sin will be cast out of His house and destroyed.
Matthew 24:15-21
15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet [see Daniel 9:24-27 below], standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Daniel 9:24-27
24 "Seventy weeks [Jesus told Peter that he should forgive 70x7 (Matthew 18:22). This seventy weeks is literally a period of 70 sevens. It is a time of God's forgiveness for us.] have been decreed for your people and your holy city [When this time is over, there will be no more salvation for the Gentiles], to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. [We are given a chance during this time to be freed from all our sin. We must take advantage of this opportunity NOW.]
25 "So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem [This was fulfilled in the ministry of Milton Green.] until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks [During this time of God's last call to repentance there will be two things going on -- One will be those that repent. This is exemplified by the 7 weeks or a period of 7 sevens. A time of God's perfect forgiveness where God is giving His perfect Word to allow us to be set free. The other is a period of 62 sevens. Darius the king received the kingdom of Babylon at age 62]; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress. [This is work that God will do in those that repent. He will again build the hedge about us that will allow us to walk free from demon powers, though this will done with much anguish to our flesh]
Daniel 5:25-31
25 "Now this is the inscription that was written out: 'MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.'
26 "This is the interpretation of the message: 'MENE'--God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. [God said it twice. It is established. Those that don't repent fully will be cut off from Christ]
27 " 'TEKEL'--you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. [The Word of God judges us.]
28 " 'PERES'--your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians." [Those that don't repent fully are given TOTALLY over to demon powers]
29 Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. [You may think that because you believe the truth that God will spare you. You must REPENT. You cannot just say "Yes I know God will judge America" and then live your life the way you want to. Belshazzar honored Daniel for the revelation of the meaning of the handwriting on the wall, but he never repented. He did not even realize that God was giving him one last chance to turn to Him with all his heart]
30 That same night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was slain.
31 So Darius the Mede received the kingdom at about the age of sixty-two.
Daniel 9:26-27
26 "Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing [God will destroy this person who continues in rebellion], and the people [demon powers] of the prince [Satan] who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary [This is the abomination of desolation. These people are TOTALLY given over to Satan]. And its end will come with a flood [the flood is the thoughts of Hell. They will be totally given over to natural thinking which is demonic]; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate." [God is simply re-stating what He said in v. 24-26. Jesus taught for 3 and half years while on the earth. These people will get a chance during this time of repentance to turn from their sins. When they do not, they are cut off. The powers of Hell will destroy every remnant of truth in these people and they will be totally given over to Satan to serve him]
Matthew 24:16-21
16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. [God is telling us that when we see these things we are to flee to Him in prayer and repentance]
17 "Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. [Don't think that you can set yourself free. The housetop represents us standing in the mind of Christ. If we go down from the housetop, we are thinking in the natural. Jesus has set us free! THAT is staying on the housetop!]
18 "Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. [The field is the world. (Matthew 13:38) If we continue to serve the things of this world, we will not be clothed with the righteousness that comes from abiding in the mind of Christ]
19 "But woe to those who are pregnant [We are pregnant when we try to birth the image of Christ is us. This woe is not evil, but is saying that this will be a time of great difficulty] and to those who are nursing babies in those days! [We MUST grow up. We cannot stay on the milk of the Word in this time. ]
20 "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter [Winter is the season AFTER the harvest. Those that don't repent will one day see that they have been cut off. They will cry out to God for mercy when they see judgment, but because of their doctrines, God will not answer], or on a Sabbath [This is the Rest of God. These people have turned from their sins and are asking God to change them].
21 "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. [This will not occur without great difficulty. The beginning of the world -- Jesus was crucified from the beginning of the world. The tribulation here is walking the path of the Cross -- denying ourselves (our thoughts and what we want to do), taking up the Cross (that says we have been set free. This is the positive part.) We deny ourselves, but take on all that He freely gave us when He died at Calvary]
