Baptism & Salvation
Baptism:
Mark 1:8 John the Baptist said; I indeed have baptized you with water: but Christ shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
(NOTE: John baptized with water. Christ is the only one that can baptise with the Holy Spirit)
Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
(NOTE: John's baptism didn't, saved anyone, nor did it cover or removed 1 single sin. Only Faith in the redemptive sin atoning BLOOD sacrifice of Christ can save remove sin)
Water baptism is a requirment for the believers growth & spiritual maturity in Christ. Not a requirement for salvation.
Emblem: A symbolic representation of a particular quality or concept.
Water Baptism is an emblem. Where you make a public statement/commitment to Godly service. In the name of Father, Son & Holy Spirit:
I will DIE to self, next you are SUBMERGED (an emblem of being buried) then you RISE (an emblem of resurrection life)
Water baptism provides the believer with the ability to produce good fruit/works
John 12:24 Jesus said; Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground & "die" it abideth alone "but if it die" "it bringeth forth much fruit"
Believers are unable to produce good/godly fruit/works until they have partaken in the emblem of Christ's death, burial & resurrection
Salvation:
Col 2:10 You are complete (perfect) in Christ, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the ""circumcision made without hands"" in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
(Only Christ can perform the circumcision/covenant, spiritual surgery of baptism. Done by His Holy Spirit without hands & without water)
1 Cor 12:13 For by "one" Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
(Translators capitalized SPIRIT, showing deity. By one Spirit "ALL" are baptized into one body. (the Body of Christ) ALL are made to drink into one Spirit.)
By one Spirit = the Holy Spirit we are baptised into the Body of Christ. Only Christ can perform the spiritual surgery. Circumcision/covenant of baptism into His Body. Done in/with/by the Holy Spirit without hands & without water.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism
Ephesians 4:30 Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are ""sealed until the day of redemption"".
(NOTE: The Holy Spirit that Christ baptises with is a called a SEAL here, 2 Cor 1:22 & Eph 1:13)
Salvation is a finished transaction, as seen by the fact that it's described with "past tense" verbs. (Jn 1:12, Eph. 1:13)
Eph 2:8 (A) For by grace are ye saved through faith
We access Gods Grace thru Faith (Rom 5:2) placed in Christ's finished redemptive sin atoning sacrificial work. Found in Christ's death (sins wage paid in full), burial & resurrection (God's receipt, payment receive & accepted). Then God imputes/transfers Christ's righteousness onto us & transfers/imputes our sins onto Christ. See this process in Lev 4 & Rom 4:22-24)
