oh that's why he flamed you

you had the nerve to tell him to use quotes when using someone else's words
I had told him he should credit his source when he's borrowing other peoples intellectual property. Copy and paste an article, in full or in part is fine because it helps to give fuller testimony to a topic under discussion, as pertains to Apologetics, in this case. Rather than asking readers to take one's word for it, their understanding of a passage and its meaning, using impartial sources helps to fill out the narrative.
The problem becomes when that copy and paste isn't credited, linked, to the original source. People reading can be led to believe it is the members original thought when it is not. And that isn't fair to anyone. Including and especially the original author.

I think that he was caught yet again copying from the Swaggart archive is what caused him to be miffed.

we go from amazing grace to amazing anger
Like flipping a switch. They're not the only one with that predilection. It's the Net after all.

It is a public forum on the Internet. A post is everybody's business because it appears to everyone who is on the forum. And even those who lurk here having found the site through a search engine.
When you are rude and uncivil to Christians here you are to be called out on that. As the scripture tells us. The peace of Christ doesn't call people names, it doesn't insult people, it doesn't lead to the Christian writing derogatory remarks, it doesn't compel a Christian to act like they're a disciple of the enemy of peace.

A forum needs members, members don't need to be insulted in a forum that tells them on the banner that it is one dedicated to the Prince of Peace, Christ, while entering therein can be an entirely different kettle of fish.
There are many Christians here who are good hearted, sincere, peace filled, and as a result, civil, decent, respectful, in their communication with others. We are the majority.
The minority are what give any forum where such hate filled personalities, threats, juvenile verbal assaults , and that demonstrate a penchant for acting out of spite and malice, a bad name.

Don't presume to tell someone if they don't like what you write they can put you on ignore. That shows that you have no contrition and are proud of the profile you exhibit publicly here and across the Net. It lends a bad image as to what the faith in Christ makes a person to become.

In short, when you grow in Christ you grow up. It is my hope that all who are of the personality herein described take that to heart so that one day they may change for the better.

If you don't wish to be gently chastised as God tells us to do, don't be an uncivil Christian.

That's not being addressed solely to you, but also to he whom you feel compelled to speak for as one of the worst repeat offenders, and seemingly proud of it, and all others who behave as you do.

It's a shame. Especially when Christian is attached to the name of the one who behaves in such ways. People deserve not to be abused!
You should know that but you don't. Now you do. Please pray on this. It is my hope that God makes you all to arrive at softer hearts and peace filled demeanor's.

This isn't up for debate. I will not go back and forth with you or those for whom it applies.
Grow up! God see's you.
You have been chastized for your behaviour, and have neither owned it, nor shown any contrition.

You want this forum to be a better representation of the character of Christ, but you deny Him with your hypocrisy. You aren't the forum police; acting like you are isn't helping.

How about you answer this... are you sinless?
Those who believe they live a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life 100% of the time (exactly as Jesus lived) are suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness. (1 John 1:8-10)

They are indeed.

And they have surely very much diminished the righteousness of Jesus to think they are on par with Him.

Strange how the book of 1st John keeps popping up in the discussion of righteousness. The problem, it seems to me, is the complete lack of knowledge as to what happened on that alter the day Christ blood was spilled.

I do know that the sacrifice was all inclusive. It was not meant for us to gain (that was determined beforehand) however it can only be refused. Its a matter of our will to believe.

Apparently their are those who seem to believe that when the scripture states "we are justified( made righteous) by faith in His blood there is something more that needs to be brought to the alter.

Christ’s finished work of redemption is sufficient and complete to save believers. (Romans 3:24-28) No supplements needed. (y)

Luke 6:46-49 "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great."

So, once we start obeying all of Christ's commands and start showing the fruit of that life: we are called legalist. 17no.gif

OP: Sin has no more dominion over you.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(NOTE Sins dominion is DEATH. God's gift thats given those who trust in Jesus sin payment & resurrection is eternal life)

Jesus resurrection is proof he conquered sin & death: Acts 2:24, 2 Tim 1:10 Rev 1:18. Not only for himself, but, for all that believe in his sin payment & resurrection 1 Cor 15:20

The books of Rom & 1 Cor, are written to believers: Rom 1:6-7 & 1 Cor 1:2

1 Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
(NOTE: Through the law, sin is exposed & it condemns)

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
(NOTE: Sin no longer has dominion over the believer. Believers in Christ sin payment & resurrection, are no longer under the law, their now under grace).

1 Cor 15:
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Rom 6:14 Isn't saying a believer will never again sin. Jesus conquered sins domain DEATH. And ALL of the believers sins have been forgiven/removed/washed away! Sin is the transgression of the law (1 Jn 3:4) once the sin is removed there in no transgression.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(NOTE: The Adamic sin nature is in us all. Until 1 Cor 15:54 above is realized. Soon very Soon! We will all stumble)

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
(NOTE: Every believer that sins (we all will) has a righteous High Priest (Heb 4:14-15) that advocates/speaks on their behalf)

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:
(NOTE: Jesus took ALL the believers sins onto himself. Our High Priest (Heb 4:14-15) also imputes his righteousness onto everyone the believes in His faithful, obedient sin payment & resurrection. Also see Rom 4:8 11, 22, 23, 24. And we bebome the righteousness of God in Christ 2 Cor 5:21)

Salvation isn't about how sinless, great & obedient we are. It's about how sinless, great & obedient our Savior is!
