After almost 9000 posts one thing is abundantly clear. Christians will not convince catholics to trust SOLELY in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is plenty of "record" here for an honest skeptical catholic to peruse. Brothers and sisters, what fruit is there here? They have been given the truth many times over. It is certain that mocking their fallacies will only harden their hearts and resolve against the truth. Now that they received the truth let's let the Lord work in their hearts. Peace, Grace and love to you all.

If you trusted Jesus solely, you would believe the Church He started and sent to teach you Christianity - you have to ask yourself why you reject Jesus

Really..... now which of the differnt interpretations of Scripture that these folks have been posting are we supposed to take as the true word of God without some sort of authority.... maybe yours? Have you not seen the discourse anoung the non-Catholics with all the differnt threads within this forum? They all claim to be "inspired" by the Holy Spirit. The God i know is not a God of confusion. And confusion is all I see amoung the non-Catholics within this site. So sorry my friend, truth outside of the Catholic church will not be found here!

Her scripture should suffice for you!! Why do you continue to masquerade as a christian? You anger God. You blaspheme his name when you continue to do as he said not do. He said you shall have no gods before me....Christians pray to God. RC are in a false religion and pray to false gods.
Personal opinion....... nothing more! And we all know about opinions now don't we! Lol!

For the record (mine own log)

Although I don´t like SEVERAL RCC´s falsehoods and "teachings" as the chosen church, I also would point out "Protestants" and protesters have OUR issues. Allow me to see if they were the Pharisees we could be the Herodians or Zelots (with the same need to be ACTUALLY saved)

Why did it take Roman Empire 325 years to accept Jesus? First thing they do is get all Christians to worship on Emperor Constantin's Sun worshiping Day, Sunday. And, you better have done it or you would be dead; no questions asked.
Hey, I can't find where they mention the rosary beads in the bible. I must not be looking hard enough. What year did they first start selling them, anyway?
Would any logical person erect a stone statue and pray to them when the Ten Commandment clearly tells us not to. I was just wondering what would compel smart people to decide to follow a religion that does the opposite of what the God tells us to do. I guess when you see people getting killed all around you will do whatever it takes to stay alive.

Peter the first Catholic Pope, Ha, Ha, Ha, tell me another one.

Oh yea, I forgot the Catholic church evolved into what it is today; because the Pope is infallible.
I don't know what is worse, talking to a JW, a Mormon or a Catholic.

I might not know the bible entirely, I might not have found Jesus like you say (even thou he is not lost; I found Jesus knocking at my door and I open it). But the history of the Catholic church is very well documented and I would be a shame to be associated with all that torture, false imprisonment, killing of millions in the name of Jesus. People use to have to hide from the Christian Crusaders (Just like the Jews did in the time of the Nazi's. Why was that necessary to spread Christianity.
The Christian world needs to make a change. Its no wonder that attendance is declining in the churches. Christians can not agree on anything. I see it here on this web site.

I came here to learn something and participate in discussions. Instead nothing is clear and two sides to every story. Just pick one and go with it. If you say your not a Catholic then you have not found Jesus.
They say do not talk about religion and politics because you will never win. And, they were right. Every subject has contradiction.
Maybe I should be a Catholic and just go to church twice a year (Christmas & Easter) and not think about it after that. I guess that's the road to heaven. Oh yea, and get a tattoo of Jesus on my back and of the virgin Mary on my arm, and pick a good saint for the other.

Oh yea, quit calling her a virgin. She had more than one child.

The Roman Empire picking a religion to follow is like The United States endorsing the Mormons and make it mandatory, failure to comply would mean loosing you family , home, and life.
I would imagine that we would all have a picture of Joseph Smith hanging in our living room in the United States. And, the image of Moroni blowing a horn on a flag waving right next to the US flag on the pole.
Hey, i can't find in the bible where you are supposed to hate on Catholics. Please point that out to me since you are an expert an all, your opinion rules according to you

I need one that speaks of mary. You cant find it?
Mary wasnt a priest btw....
Ha... Ha. in case you didn't know, The Blessed Virgin Mary is a Saint. So she is included in the Intercessory prayers to Saints in which we "have shown" as being biblical. Sheesh..... However..... I am am still waiting for one verse from one of you "Sola Scripturest" to show where in Scripture it says that the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith. Care to take a crack at it?

I and another person provided the Scriptures commanding intercessory pray - you simply deny the Word of God and are dismissed
You provided NO Scriptures telling us to ask dead people to pray on our behalf. To suggest you gave such Scriptures is, again, a blatant lie.

Obviously you are uneducated in both Christian and secular history. You make yourself look like a fool when you opine about subjects you never bothered to learn - LOL
And, obviously you can only see through rosary colored glass.

Maybe bibleteacher didn't, but I sure did back on post 8837:

Gladly, I'd love to show you your errors. but first I must correct you on a couple of things. First off, I see you are a believer of the "Sola Scriptura" doctrine. Which in its self is unbiblical. (as of yet, no one has showed me a passge of Scripture that says the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith. Can you?)

Secondly....
your misunderstanding seems to make is missing the crucial different between prayer as worship and prayer as mere communication. Worship, of course, is for God alone. But when a Catholic asks a saint to petition God on his behalf, he is hardly worshipping that saint - he is merely making a request, which, in fact, is identical to what Protestants do when they ask friends and family to pray for them.

Another of your critical misunderstanding - or objection - is the assertion that Christ's status as Mediator between God and man makes intercessory prayer wrong. But this is a mixing of apples and oranges (which is made evident by the Bible's own examples of intercessory prayer, among other things).

1 Timothy 2:5 says "For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus". But in this very book, this very chapter, in fact in the verses just before this verse Paul commands Christians to engage in intercessory prayer!

"First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."(1 Timothy 2:1-4) Oops.... did you forget about this passage? Paul requests that Christians pray for one another. To acknowledge this and yet claim that it is then wrong to ask another Christian to pray for us is nonsensical.

And did you happen to forget about when Moses and Elijah appear with Christ to the apostles during the Transfiguration? It appears you have. This is proof alone that the saints in heaven can have knowledge of activities and people on earth and are concerned with them.

Not only that, the book of Revelations offers a picture of the heavenly saints offering the prayers of the faithful to God on our behalf:

"Then I saw standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, a Lamb that seemed to have been slain. He had seven horns and seven eyes; these are the (seven) spirits of God sent out into the whole world. He came and received the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat on the throne. When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones." (Rev 5:6-8).

And: "Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne. The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel." (Rev 8:3-4)

How beautiful are these passages depicting Heavenly intercession of the saints on our behalf, do you not agree? And there can be no doubt about what they depict: angels and other saints offering prayers to God. Since those in Heaven are perfect and have every desire fulfilled, these supplications must come from the suffering Church in exile on earth.

So you need to ask yourself.....Why is it worthwhile to ask the saints in paradise to pray with us? Well, maybe because James declares in Scripture, "The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects." It's as simple as that. Ta... Ta!

I do not hate Catholics, or Mormons, or JW's. I just think you are in the really wrong church.
And, like someone said earlier, it is a waste of time to reason while their brain is in the washer.
Why do you think people left the Catholic church in the first place and started other religions, its because the Catholic church does not follow the bible. You have to dig deep to understand why you guys follow your Popeye. Because, most of your traditions are not in the bible. Like sprinkling babies with water and call it a Baptism. Imagine being born again, and your not even 1 year old.

I heard that the Catholics are baptizing the dead now, they installed sprinklers at the cemetery.

Some body came up with praying to Mary and the "Saint of the day". You do know that The Catholics have a saint for every day of the week. Yes, including Sainta Claus or St. Nick. Then you have your Saint Valentine.

Then you have your Ash Wednesday, of which the Apostles really encouraged the practice in the New Testament (not). Along with your statue of the virgin on your lawn.

And, I won't say a word about Catholics seeing the face of Jesus on toast. I promise.

Then you start out with a false premise that we hate scripture or worship Mary and continue walking into a pit making fools of yourselves, and then claim you can read our minds! We are on to your BS and so are the readers. We have not lied, not once. We don't need to

I'm still reeling from the facts that Mec99 and Mikehenderson have lied to this forum and show no remorse. The readers of this thread know I have manned up when I was wrong. It stands that these two individuals are liars and their words are a record. They have no problem lying and misleading. I would consider carefully anything these confirmed liars have to say

There's no remorse to be had. Your responses are not read. There are some here only to rebuke. They are the angry watchman to drive away the brides of Christ. Don't get comfortable though. They are not in the Catholic Church as a matter of course. They are in the hearts of free women and men. If you have time watch this video. Carter Conlon is a Protestant minister warning of the angry watchman and their inner pledge.

Satan hates Mary and women in general. The Protevangelium in Genesis 3 is God promising Satan the serpent there will be enmity between him and woman (Genesis 3:15). That doesn't just mean women will hate snakes. It means Satan will hate women because ultimately they will crush his head. I think Satan languishes in happiness when he can use women in faulty ways, but loves it more when they are disparaged.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
[SUP]16 [/SUP] All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
[SUP]17 [/SUP] that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Clearly fordman God says ALL Scriptures make the man of God complete. If its the Scriptures that make the man of God complete they why do you Catholics teach otherwise? Why do you Catholics go against what God says? God says we are THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED by the Scriptures!

So why fordman are you trying to add man's WORKS to what God has said in the Scriptures?

Fordman, you miss the point about intercessory prayer.

Acts 8:24
[SUP]24 [/SUP] Then Simon answered and said, "Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me."

Yes we are to do intercessory Prayer for others. If you notice in this verse Peter is asking for intercessory Prayer for him. BUT he said "Pray to the Lord", he did not say Pray to Mary, he did not say Pray to the Saints.

This is where you Catholics walk away from the Truth in the Scriptures. You are to PRAY TO GOD for intercessory Prayer, not to MARY or the SAINTS!

We True Christ put God first in our lives and second the Scriptures we have received from God.

The Catholics put Mary first in their lives, with the Catholic Church second in the lives and third in their lives is Pope Francis and his lie that Muslims are our Brothers in Christ.

How can you mwc68 and fordman say you are a True Christian when you reject everything God says in the Scriptures in favor of the lies of the Catholic Church?

Show us where in the Scriptures mwc68 and fordman where God says you can Pray to Mary and the Saints?

Matthew 6:5-8
[SUP]5 [/SUP] "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Its interesting that Catholics will pray the Rosary over and over and over again for hours on end. Clearly this is VAIN REPETITIONS!

Why is it you Catholics REFUSE to obey what God says in the Scriptures?

I truly believe its because no Catholic has ever received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!
