Xian Logic 101:

1. God said we would be hated for telling the truth.

2. I am hated.
________________________________________________________

3. Therefore, I must be telling the truth.
Your logic is faulty. God didn't say the only thing you'd be hated for is telling the truth.

What is hated is arrogance, self-righteousness, personal attacks, an attitude of superiority, and a general absence of the fruit of the Spirit. You? You haven't been around long enough to be hated. Your attitude has though... it's been here before.

The Scripture says otherwise. You quoted it yourself; go back and check.
Actually the problem is that your human arguments have not the support of the Word of God. Your words has nothing to do with the Word of God, the Word is God, God is Spirit.

Good of you to explain your lack of understanding in such stark terms
What you say has nothing todo with the Word of God. It is yours. The Word is God. God is Spirit. I know your spirit.

Well... aren't you the self-righteous one today. What you claim in this regard is irrelevant and holds absolutely no merit for supporting your position
Oh what is irrelevant are your words and interpretations that have nothing to do with the Word of God, but men's words. God is Spirit.
You are being judged by the Word of God.

So you should know it better than your argument indicates.
I do not believe in what your spirit says. What I have preached is not after man, neither I received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation.

Apparently you also don't understand what an argument is. We each made one. The evidence you provided for your argument actually supported mine.
You are mistaken. I do not believe in your arguments trying to make your speculations, and presumptions, and suppositions, as whether they were interpretation of Scriptures. There is not any faithful interpretation of the Word of God without the Spirit of God.

When you're ready to discuss this without throwing your rather insignificant spiritual weight around, let me know.
With me it is a very small thing to be judged of you, or of man's judgment, He that judges me is the Lord.

Apparently you are incapable of processing disagreement with your views, and can only muster insults and denigration in response.

Yawn.

something I’ve read as well, the measured height of the Gaza pyramid times 1 trillion equals the distance from earth to the sun. it is a wonder how they built it with such precision.
distance to the sun varies by 3 or 4 million miles depending on what time of year it is.

height of great pyramid = 455 ft
average distance to sun = 490 billion ft

so.. you heard wrong.

That is not the case, in fact you have not spirit to understand the things of the Spirit of God. God is a title. The Word is God from everlasting to everlasting, without beginning neither ending.

A simple question for you: do you think that if someone disagrees with your interpretation of Scripture, that they are without the Spirit of God?

It's a yes-or-no answer.

yes the trillion was wrong what I read here’s another.

Mean Distance to the Sun:

The height of the pyramid times 10**9 = avg. distance to sun. {5813.2355653 * 10**9 * (1 mi / 63291.58 PI) = 91,848,500 mi} Mean Distance to the Sun: Half of the length of the diagonal of the base times 10**6 = average distance to the sun Mean Distance to Sun: The height of the pyramid times 10**9 represents the mean radius of the earth's orbit around the sun, or Astronomical Unit. { 5813.235565376 pyramid inches x 10**9 = 91,848,816.9 miles} Mean Distance to Moon: ] The length of the Jubilee passage times 7 times 10**7 is the mean distance to the moon. {215.973053 PI * 7 * 10**7 =1.5118e10 PI = 238,865 miles }

Sun's Radius:

Twice the perimeter of the bottom of the granite coffer times 10**8 is the sun's mean radius. { 270.45378502 PI* 10**8 = 427,316 miles}

Earth's Polar Radius:

The sacred cubit times 10**7 = polar radius of the earth (distance from North Pole to Earth's center) {25 PI * 10**7 * (1.001081 in / 1 PI) * (1 ft / 12 in) * (1 mi/ 5280 ft) = 3950 miles }

Radius of the Earth:

The curvature designed into the faces of the pyramid exactly matches the radius of the earth.

To be fair, those were my words. The quotation marks got messed up somewhere. I appreciate the sentiment though. :)

I'll share what God told me when I asked him about some of this stuff.

My question to him was basically "Did you really create all this stuff in 6 calendar days? That honestly sounds a bit far fetched."

His answer to me was (paraphrased) "I didn't say it was 6 calendar days. Man made that declaration. I said there was not something, then I made the something, and THAT constituted a day." (again, that's paraphrased)

Great question. Keep pondering stuff like that. And don't be afraid to ask God directly. God's word says he is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask, or think." That's a bold statement and I think it's worth taking him up on the challenge. :) Thank you Jesus.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

BTW, for those who think it was a calendar day...please explain which part would take him an hour. :)

I got it Kelby! :p

In comparison? Let's say a guy, er gal, accomplishes an X amount of results in an X amount of time! And says? "Whew!" "I'm whuuped!" "I'm callin' it a day!" :p

Dr Kenneth Miller is the most highly regarded debunker of Intelligent Design in America and has written standard high school and biology college text books that defend evolution. Yet he is a devout Christian (Roman Catholic) who believes in the compatibility of evolution and the Christian faith. He defends his position in his very popular book, "Finding Darwin's God." Go to Amazon book reviews and read this excerpt from the best received reviewer. The excerpt outlines how Miller debunks the "young earth theory:"

"I found chapter three, God the Charlatan, to be very interesting. Here Miller shows the clear evidence for a multi-billion year old earth. He describes how the 235U/207Pb ratio and other independent uranium and thorium methods along with the potassium/argon dating method prove the age of the earth. There are tables listing nuclides (isotopes of various elements) clearly showing the concept of half-life decay which also demonstrates the age of the earth. There are also rubidium/strontium graphs with an isochron (a chart line signifying events that happen at the same time) lending support to an old earth. In chapter four, God the Magician, we are introduced to the concepts of phyletic gradualism and punctuated equilibrium and the concept of speciation. It is shown that a direct creation of individual species was most improbable. There is some discussion of mutation rates in nature and experiments that show that these rates were sufficient to produce descent with modification as well. In the next chapter, God the Mechanic, Miller introduces us to fallacies proposed by the intelligent design group and how they got it wrong. Here he takes a stab at explaining the concept of irreducible complexity and provides the best example I've read about how the blood clotting process could have evolved."

Here is a major reason why modern young people reject evangelicalism: secular young people perceive evangelicals as naïve denizens of an intellectually dishonest thought Ghetto that only reads Ghetto-approved books and refuses to read or hear the most articulate and compelling defenses of evolution. When I was a young teen ager, a well-read Christian layman in my Pentecostal church once said something that greatly influenced my future thinking: he said, "You don't have to be stupid to be a Christian, but sometimes I think it sure helps!" Let me ask you 3 questions about the Genesis creation story:
(1) Do you really believe God created vegetation the day before He created the sun (1:14-19)?
(2) Do you really believe that snake species only exist because a talking snake seduced Eve (3:14)?
(3) Do you really believe that God wanted to prevent humans from becoming like Him and from learning the difference between good and evil (3:22)?

Karl Barth was the most famous Protestant theologian of the 20th century. One day, he was asked this question by a Fundamental list at one of his talks: "Dr. Barth, was there really a snake in the Garden of Eden or not?" Barth wittily replied: "It's not important whether there was a snake there; what's important is what the snake said!"

Neo-Darwinism & AxelElf

Previously in this thread, AxelElf stated something roughly to the effect that NO RATIONAL scientists disagree with evolutionary theory.

Aside from being provably false, that statement also contained at least 3 logical fallacies... all in one sentence!
1. It contained a logical fallacy called an "appeal to the majority."
2. It contained a logical fallacy called an "appeal to authority."
3. It contained a logical fallacy called the "no true Scottsman" fallacy.

Hmmm.

List of over 1,000 PhD level scientists, who all have various issues with current evolutionary theory.
https://dissentfromdarwin.org/about/

- These scientists hold a range of differing views on many issues, including common descent, but they all believe the postulated mechanisms for Darwinian evolution are quite impotent... and the mere existence of this list is proof of quite a wide range of divergence of accredited academicians within the scientific community.

Looking for Cover:
If AxelElf says, "I only meant that all rational scientists believe in 'certain parts' of evolutionary theory", that doesn't solve his problem... his statement is STILL based on all 3 logical fallacies, and is STILL factually incorrect.

We can easily go to the list of scientists on the above list, as well as scientists NOT on the above list, and find those who disagree on particular issues such as common descent.

Let's see if evangelicals here have a rational answer to one of Dr. Kenneth Ring's many arguments in favor of human evolution form lower apes:

Dr. Miller is a devout Christian (Roman Catholic) and his lengthy online lectures decisively refute Intelligent Design arguments, though the technical definition of "Intelligent Design" is likely different from yours. The science of genetics is a vital part of evolutionary theory. Miller likes to point out that the science of genetics was founded by a Catholic monk, Gregor Mendel, who was constantly at prayer in his monastic garden and became curious about how various plant species have developed.
