Happy Father's Day To All Fathers/A Prayer for Father’s Day from Rick Warren

Dear God, You have said reverence for God gives a man deep strength, and what we need today are men with deep strength. Help us to build our firm foundation on Jesus Christ. When everybody else is running the race for acquisitions, achievements, accomplishments, and appearance, help us to remember that what matters most is love—to love you and to love our wives, our kids, our families, our friends, and even our enemies.

Help us to remember, Jesus, that you said our care for others is the measure of our greatness. Help us to give our lives away and learn what it means to really live. We realize that everything else is going to pass away, but the man who does the will of God will live forever. Most importantly, we pray you give these men a new sense of courage—the courage to stand alone, be a man of honor, be strong, and do everything in love. We pray this blessing in your name, Amen

Hebrews 3

Christ Is Superior To Moses In His Work

1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

Christ Is Superior To Moses In His Person

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Danger Of Hardening The Heart

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Beautifully written thanks for the great offering here !!

We have great examples in tbe ot mostly of what not to do and the lesson of the outcome

Paul really uses this a lot in his epistles teaching the church that if we don’t repent and open our hearts to Christ and his word and truly begin walking in repentance and faith we’re not learning the lessons of the old things

“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. ( even though God chose to deliver the children of Abram and Jacob from slavery they rebelled and then were destroyed even though they were chosen and God did his part earning them ahead of time )

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:1-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The ot example and relation to the new

“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,

and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If the Old Testament word ordained of angels and spoken by Moses was binding and official and always enforced , , then how much more choice we pay attention to the son of God and his word which is the word of the Father son and Holy Ghost, and his bloodshed also compared to the bloodshed of animals it’s that much more important and better and greater

as much as God is greater than Moses and angels , So is Christ the son of God and his one gospel greater than Moses and angels word

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭

Wherefore then serveth the law?

It was added because of transgressions,

till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;( Abraham’s seed Jesus )

and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If our sins are remitted we need a new doctrine because we can’t live by this one as a new born again creation

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This isnt how the lord speaks of his disciples in tbe gospel though he acknowledges they’ve all sinned and have an issue with it but then he starts telling them the Father in heaven lives then because they accept and believe in him , that they should start praying “ Our a father in heaven holt is your name …”

That we are Gods children and beloved in Jesus welcomed and called home to him were taught that the father is just waiting for us to look towards home and turn to him so he can run to us and our in new clothes and the family ring so he can say “ my son who was lost is found again he was dead but now he lives again let’s celebrate !”
