So no reason ? That explains why your struggling to account for it . Where as from our vantage there is purpose and reason for Predestination and Election . We are explaining why Paul is saying what he is saying . There is something Paul wants them to know and its not arbitrary .Being told you are predestined to the Adoption is the basis for eternal security. The Holy Spirit guarantee s this by the sealing until the day of redemption. There is no assurance ultimately outside of this.
I don’t need to account for anything. I quote scriptures and you reject them. It’s obvious.

Would it be better expressed to say salvation is a promise or outcome of faith?
Faith is a response to God’s Gracious call.

Really, thats all that needs to be said...

Salvation is a response to faith/belief.
Does God respond to us or do we respond to Him? I thought I was responding to Him when I got saved.

As long as you get the order right.

God calls. We call upon Him. He saves

While we’re talking about calling,the order is foreknew, predestined, called, justified, glorified.

Reprove .elegcho
to bring to the light, to expose
Conviction of the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation, but occurs to sinners alike, regardless of consequent faith or unbelief. It is not irresistible or unconditionally selective. (Jn. 16:7-11)
That would be a good post in an irresistable grace thread. This is not an irresistable grace thread. Feel free to start a thread on irresistable grace, and I’ll even participate.

Most likely I’d even be on your side on that issue.

If you can’t understand God’s mind or His purposes before Genesis 1:1, what are you doing telling us that He “decreed” certain things before Genesis 1:1?
Because the Bible says so.

So what did Jesus mean when He said the Spirit would convict the world of righteousness. Thats for you too, Eleven

This is

He tells us in the verse .
so the Holy Spirit will bring to light sin, righteousness and judgement to the world. And many will be convinced by the Light HE brings. Or are they convinced by some divine spark you guys think they have in themselves?

Do you hold to total inability from birth? if so how did you arrive at that conclusion?

I hold to fallen in Adam, slaves to sin, in my flesh dwells no good thing. That is the position I hold.

What do the verses say ?
That He will convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement, because they do not believe in Him, because He is going to the Father and is no longer in the world, and because the prince of the world is judged. Off the top of my head.

The Holy Spirit is going to bring these things to LIGHT to unbelievers.

You never answered my question earlier. What phrase in John 6 is used synonomously with the verb "draw"? This is one of numerous questions on the table here that have not been answered.

Thats not a position. Two of them are portions of verses and the first one is a vauge reference to what happened in the Garden of Eden.

John 6 has nothing to do with salvation after the cross . The Gospel hasn't happened in John 6 . John 6 is still in the OT

7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12¶I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

You need to answer my question that I asked you a long time ago that you didn't answer first. What is the phrase that is used synonomously with draw in John 6?

What does it mean to reprove the world of righteousness?
