If you asked nearly all christians if they must live a sinless life in order to be a christian they would reply ''No'' for they would know they were not perfect in the flesh, no one is(1John1:8)
If you ask any true Christian is he WANTS to live a sinless life, the answer would be yes, he repents of sin.

Paul puts it this way: I do what I do not want to do.

The father cannot live with sin
That's another one of those trite phrases. Thanks for reminding me.

And we see Satan approaching the throne of God to contend for Job.

You repeat what I say when I say repent of sin (the law tells us what sin is) and go to Christ for forgiveness.

If you are against all law, saying to take on the righteous of Christ is hogwash, then you must believe the Christ and Paul felt the 119th Psalm was hogwash.
Brother, there is one commandment in the law that if you disobey it, it will result in seperation from God for all eternity.

You better find out what that one commandment is, because you are on the very edge of it.

Paul was speaking of his life as a pharisee in those verses

One of the greatest delusions in the church is the need to focus on the sin nature. We've even come up with Public Relations axioms that no one questions: "We're just sinners saved by grace" "Who am I to judge?" etc. All these appeal to a population that is carnal (worldly). These things are said to somehow assuage the moodiness of a god who is petulant. This way of thinking is an active deception from the Roman Empire's influence on the church.

"God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting men’s trespasses against them.... God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

This is not about sinning or not sinning. This is about the change of nature and standing with the Father: from a sinner to a son.
this has never been more evident to me Than reading through this Thread

“And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:13-15‬ ‭

It’s crazy how scripture is cast aside and everyone just wants to express thier opinion without accepting all the pesky scripture from Jesus and the apostles

We don't return to a law for sinners, but, according to the foundation upon which the new covenant stands the law God desires for us is within us, but minus the penalty for breaking it. The power of sin is the law 1Cor 15:56. But the true power of sin is the penalty for transgression, that got removed by Christ's death at calvary. It is an indisputable fact through the law we become conscious of sin. You can only have heartfelt conviction of sin before God concerning law that is within you. I would think nearly all christians would have consciousness of sin if they committed adultery for example, or committed theft, or bore false witness. I am only sharing biblical truth also.
Concerning being sin free. With respect, please see a difference between being a slave to sin, where sin is your master, and sinless perfection. They are worlds apart, please bear that in mind when quoting your scriptures:

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God 1John 3:9

If we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us 1John 1:8

Contradiction? Well no

If you asked nearly all christians if they must live a sinless life in order to be a christian they would reply ''No'' for they would know they were not perfect in the flesh, no one is(1John1:8)

However, if you asked nearly all christians if you could be saved if you lived a lifestyle of sin, they would also reply ''No''(1John3:9)

We have to read the bible as one cohesive whole, and discern what is written. Do you commit sin in your view if we do not obey Jesus commands in the Gospels? Jesus spoke the word of God on this earth remember. That is where the bar is set, the beatitudes for example. In over 40 years I have never met any christian who even tried to obey each and every command of Christ, are you really different? And, if a person believes they are sinless, what need have they for a saviour from sin, Jesus becomes irrelevant to them. Even Paul said he was not perfect! No, you should consider just what it would take to be sinless, man will not achieve that, even with the Holy Spirit, for no man will perfectly follow the manual, as that Baptist minister said
“We don't return to a law for sinners, but, according to the foundation upon which the new covenant stands the law God desires for us is within us”

no Jesus came to put the law that Hod desires in us it’s called the gospel

The law and the prophets were until John:

since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wants this written on our heart

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s why he sent the gospel out from Jerusalem to all nations and said believe the gospel and be saved

this is the law that’s in us before the gospel and it’s why the law of Moses doesn’t work for us

“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what’s the answer for that problem ?

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think what section of scriptire you are referring to is this but notice what he’s saying about it

“For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to the gospel.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He’s saying the law works this in our conscience

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

of we don’t know what sin is or we think we’re not guilty of sin the. We need to embrace Moses law until we realize we’re a sinner too and need a savior because the law has already condemned us to death that’s why Jesus died for our sins and why we get baptized

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So we can die to the law

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1, 4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law produces this fruit

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:5‬ ‭

when we move from the law to the gospel that’s where the fruits of God are

“For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law produces sin and guilt and shame and death until we turn to Christ and the gospel

“Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

If a christian committed adultery would they have heartfelt conviction of sin because they committed adultery?
Through the law we become conscious of sin
If a christian stole something would they have heartfelt conviction of sin because they stole?
Through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20 etc, etc, etc

Being under the law is being under righteousness of obeying the law, the believer can have law in their heart and mind but not be under righteousness of obeying the law!!!
You say we must follow the bible, but you appear unwilling to concerning the definition of sin, and through the law we become conscious of sin.
Anyway, I see no usefulness in continuing this. If you believe you are sinless in the flesh I will bid you good day:

If we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us 1John1:8

are you skipping my responses and all the scriptire that answers that ? It seems like your not reading my responses to you

Christians will be clear learn to repent this point and aren’t going to have to commit adultery before they think they’ve done wrong and repent they are following the spiritual word not the one written on stone

If we are sinners in our nature like the Bible says , which of these two commands are going to keep us from committing adultery

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we follow what Jesus said committing adultery won’t be something we will ever do do you see what I’m Saying

to the flesh without being born of the spirit it’s said

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

the spirit says this to the inner man

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:21KJV‬‬

if we don’t hate people and bear grudges and anger against them of we here Jesus and follow his word we’re never going to kill or be driven in any way to kill

if you tell sinners don’t sin it’s never going to help but if you teach them that looking at others with lust , bearing grudges , harboring anger and resentment , greed and pride ect of you tell them that’s the problem deal with the inner things you’ll never have to tell them not to commit those sins that come from those motives that we harbor

sin begins in us and we can repent before we commit sin of we look where Jesus says in our heart and mind Thy ata where every action comes from its first in our heart and we accept it there and harbor it then later it gives birth to sin

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we have to get our heart right the actions will be whatever we embrace inside we need to follow the spirit and the flesh has no power to bring us to sin

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16 ‭KJV‬‬

Another way to say that

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel can save us from sin the law can’t

So what would a believer have to see achieved in their life to attain to the standard set by Christ:

They would not invite friends or family home for a meal, but rather the poor, lame, blind and beggars so they may receive their reward in Heaven

If someone stole something of theirs they would gladly give the thief more than they stole, with nothing but love in their heart for them

If a believer fasted, they would make sure they did not as much as hint to anyone they were fasting

If a believer was persecuted they would leap for joy.

A believer would truly love from their heart their enemies, those who may persecute them or malign them.

If someone asked to borrow from a believer they would gladly give to them without expecting anything back

I could go on and on. I have never met any christian who has even tried to obey each and every command of Christ in the gospels, but I have come accross some who preach sinless perfection

If a believer had heartfelt conviction of sin due to committing adultery, stealing, coveting, bearing false witness, taking the Lords name in vain, they would have to have those laws in their hearts

Coveting on its own would include looking at a woman with lust in your eye

Sin shall no longer be your master for you are not under law but under grace Rom6:14
Saul the pharisee ardently lived under the law, hence rom 7:14-24.
“For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

how is that Paul talking about his time as a Pharisee ?

it seems like he’s talking about the contrary nature of the spirit and flesh like he often does.

He’s talking about this law in mankind our flawed nature

“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:21, 23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he’s showing the conflict inside of us and why the law can’t help us he’s explaining this about the law and that we have to be delivered from it

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“ We “ our he then uses his own self as an example showing mans sinful nature or that “law of sin in us “ it’s sort of throughout pauls writings contrasting spirit and flesh the two covenants and two Minds they form one of death and another of life

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:6

We need to believe this and let Christ change our minds

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that can do this and fix the issue oaul expresses inside of us there

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:22-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You see Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law. He came to end righteousnes of obeying the law. Therein lies the difference. The law itself is holy, righteous and good, nothing wrong with it at all. The problem was the attached penalty which condemned man.
So, God removed the penalty of the law, Jesus died for our transgressions of it. He then put those laws in our hearts, meaning in our hearts we want to live as God desires us to live. I guess to some it is shameful to believe that. Terrible thing to believe Christians in their hearts do not want to steal, lie, covet, commit adultery etc. For that is what it means. Law as we all understand law to mean got abolished, for law always comes with an attached penalty. But the law inside believers has no penalty for transgression, for Christ died to pay our penalty

‬‬
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

You are soooo way off. So in your view, all manner of concupiscence was aroused in Paul the christian through the commandment thou shalt not covet. Do you know what concupiscence means??? And the law condemned Paul the christian who didnt live under the law????.

Saul would have made a personal commitment to God at the age of 13 for a young jewish lad. He would have felt alive before he made that commitment for there was no deep commitment to obey the law until then. But once he understood what thou shalt not covet demanded, sin used that knowledge to arouse all manner of concupiscence in him, and by it slew him. The commandment saul believed was ordained to life?(if he obeyed it) instead brought death(for he could not keep it).

Im afraid it is no good just reading the bible you have to understand what you are reading

“Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.”

But it’s not a good idea this is the better word to embrace

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:51‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭

it’s better to accept the word that promises salvstion and life rather than fully and condemnation for just one sin

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I wouldt want to choose it

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. ( 613 commands and ordinances kept perfectly continuously )

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but I think it’s because I believe the New Testament word of life I could. Ever see going back to The law that binds and condemns
