So what does this mean for us.

He says they were doing the will of the Most High, and we know in that day those Priests were appointed to the Temple service, and they carrying that out...

So does that mean the Sabbath is abolished because the priests performed Temple service on the Sabbath? or that it's ok to watch football on the Sabbath?

I am curious to your view, you made a statement, I would like to hear your understanding of it.
no it doesn't mean that the Sabbath was abolished

it does mean that sometimes doing God's will means breaking the Sabbath

would God ever tell you to do something that breaks the Sabbath?

Walk trough the valley
First posted in, "Not by works."It's "Not of works" because it's not possible by works. "And if it is of works Grace is no longer Grace," means, "If it is of our achievements then God's influence is no longer God's influence. For example there is a man who boasts of God's Sabbath and is unable to enter in because of unbelief in the Grace of God: judging those who don't believe him: under the Law. "The simplicity of Christ" is "Christ in you the hope of Glory (Resurrection)," having exposed us as contrary to God, and because we can't be there in the flesh, is the conflict we are in: many think they already have this perfection and do not advance in Christ into this place of rest; the finished work of God, from a place of rest in Him. Both those who believe in works and those who believe in Grace can be hindered because of unbelief. Also some who believe in works are believing in the works of God and are progressing towards God and some who believe in grace go on in their own way. "Every man shall give account of His own work."

I suggest you need to understand what Jesus stated about the law. I take his words over yours!! In point of fact we admit we sin and fall short of the glory of God. What is the definition of sin? Breaking the law!!

Matthew 5:13 to 20 NIV
Jesus saying he came to fulfill the law and the prophets.

Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
The Fulfillment of the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
OK. Listen to Jesus only and understand he fulfilled the Old Testament which is commonly spoken of as the law.

I think we are on the same page just word things differently.

Since the purpose of the Sabbath is to set apart a day for His ways, will and path:

Genesis 2:1-3, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array. And in the seventh day the Mighty One completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Mighty One blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which the Mighty One in creating had made.”

Exodus 20:8-11, “Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart." Six days you labor, and shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of יהוה your Mighty One. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days יהוה made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.”

and we can see it is for His will not just to "rest"

Isaiah 58:11-14, "YHWH will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat; (strengthen), your bones. You will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And those of you will rebuild the old waste places; you will raise up the foundations of many generations; and you will be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In; If you turn away your foot from breaking the Sabbath: from doing your pleasure; your own business, your own pleasure, on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of YHWH honorable, and will honor Him by not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor engaging in idle conversation: Then you will find your joy in YHWH; and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Yaaqob your father, for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it."

Doing His will is not "sin" or "breaking the Sabbath" the Spirit or intent of the Sabbath Law is indeed to do His will:

Mat 12:12, "And how much more valuable is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is Lawful to do righteousness on the Sabbath."

But in doing this we must be careful not to let our own desires creep in and do something that is not His will and act like it is to "justify it". If whatever we are doing is INSIDE His path for us than it is not sin, it may appear to be just like the priests doing Yah works on the Sabbath and Yahshua doing Yah's works on the Sabbath but in reality it is withing His will:

Isaiah 58:11-14, "...If you turn away your foot from breaking the Sabbath: from doing your pleasure; your own business, your own pleasure, on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of YHWH honorable, and will honor Him by not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor engaging in idle conversation...YHWH has spoken it."

As the Unblemished Lamb of God He had to obey the law to be unblemished!! Otherwise His sacrifice would have been in vain!! We would have no grace by faith to be saved. His good works of His entire life made His sacrifice acceptable to God.

His return as the conquering Lion spoke of in the OT still remains it is not YET fulfilled:

Genesis 49:9-11, “Yehuḏah is a lion’s cub; from the prey you have gone up, my son! He bowed down, he crouched like a lion. And like a lion, who does rouse him? The scepter shall not turn aside from Yehuḏah, nor an Inscriber from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to Him is the obedience of peoples. Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, he washed his garments in wine, and his robes in the blood of grapes.”

Isaiah 13:9, "See, the day of יהוה is coming, fierce, with wrath and heat of displeasure, to lay the earth waste, and destroy its sinners from it. For the stars of the heavens and their constellations do not give off their light. The sun shall be dark at its rising, and the moon not send out its light. And I shall punish the world for its evil, and the wrong for their crookedness, and shall put an end to the arrogance of the proud, and lay low the pride of the ruthless."

Daniyl 2:34-35, “You were looking on, until a stone was cut out without hands, and it smote the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing-floors. And the wind took them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain and filled all the earth.”

Daniyl 2:44-45, “And in the days of these sovereigns the Strength of the heavens shall set up a reign which shall never be destroyed, nor the reign pass on to other people – it crushes and puts to an end all these reigns, and it shall stand forever. Because you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great Strength has made known to the sovereign what shall be after this. And the dream is true, and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

Daniyl 7:13-14, “I was looking in the night visions and saw One like the Son of Enosh, coming with the clouds of the heavens! And He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. And to Him was given rulership and preciousness and a reign, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His rule is an everlasting rule which shall not pass away, and His reign that which shall not be destroyed.”

Daniyl 7:21-27, “I was looking, and this horn was fighting against the set-apart ones, and was prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and right-ruling was given to the set-apart ones of the Most High, and the time came and the set-apart ones took possession of the reign. This is what he said, ‘The fourth beast is the fourth reign on earth, which is different from all other reigns, and it devours all the earth, tramples it down and crushes it. And the ten horns are ten sovereigns from this reign. They shall rise, and another shall rise after them, and it is different from the first ones, and it humbles three sovereigns, and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times and law, and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time. But the Judgment shall sit, and they shall take away its rule, to cut off and to destroy, until the end. And the reign, and the rulership, and the greatness of the reigns under all the heavens, shall be given to the people, the set-apart ones of the Most High. His reign is an everlasting reign, and all rulerships shall serve and obey Him.”

no matter how much people say "it's done!" they are not truly accepting His way:

There are 2 "it is done" statements...

Fulfilled already
John 19:30, “So when
יהושע took the sour wine He said, “It is done!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Fulfilled already- To be fulfilled in the future

1. Passover/First-fruits – Yahshua's Sacrifice(Passover), burial and resurrection (First Fruits – presenting Himself to YHWH)
2. Feast of Unleavened Bread – Removal of sin by Yahshua's perfect work as the Passover Sacrifice
3. Feast of Weeks – The blessing Holy Spirit of YHWH, coming into our lives stronger than ever

4. Feast of Trumpets – Yahshua's return and gathering of the Saints
5. Day of Atonement – Yahshua leads the army of YHWH to destroy evil rulers of this world and satan is chained for 1,000 years
6. Feast of Tabernacles – Yahshua dwells on earth for 1,000 years teaching truth and righteousness
7. The Last Great Day – satan is loosed and swiftly destroyed, the Kingdom of YHWH reigns forever

To be fulfilled in the future
Revelation 21:4-8, “And Yah shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away. And He who was sitting on the throne said, “See, I make all matters new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and trustworthy. And He said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I shall give of the fountain of the water of life without payment. The one who overcomes shall inherit all this, and I shall be his Strength and he shall be My son. But as for the cowardly, and untrustworthy, and abominable, and murderers, and those who whore, and drug sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the false, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”

He did both, He was unblemished, and he fulfilled all that was written about him up to his birth.

Move on, out of the dark ages and into the light.

You love beating a dead horse with a long post. Why? There are many aspects about Jesus in the Bible. Since Jesus and God are one and the same every mention of God is a mention of Jesus. There are 318 prophecies of Jesus. Are you now going to post all of them?

I think his point is to show "All" has not been fulfilled as "many" who come in Christ's name preach.

Matt. 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Those who believe in this Messiah are careful to understand that God's Words are still the standard by which His People Live.

As it is written; "20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

Many have been tricked into rejecting this Biblical Truth IMO.

Eph. 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

I, personally, am thankful there are some who continue to point this truth out, even though "many" ridicule them for doing so.

Just a quick question to make a point.

You quote from Matt. 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

The question is this. Do you believe Jesus succeeded in what he came to do, which was to fulfil the law?

If the answer is a resounding YES, and how can we say otherwise, because God cannot fail or forsake us, then we can all sleep safe in our beds knowing the law is ended because it has been fulfilled. To which we all say Hallelujah.

It is happening more and more. The 7 big denominations have been taken over by secular ministers. No mention of the gospel in them. This was completed in the Presbyterian USA by 1932 as documented in the book Crossed Fingers by Gary North. Each of the big denominations have sub denominations still preaching the gospel. Presbyterian PCA and Lutheran Missouri Synod for example. Just go to one of the big original denomination churches and see if you hear the gospel message. At this point in the USA less than half of the people go to church and only a fraction of those hear the gospel message. In a refreshment get together after an invitational evening service a member of the Lutheran church told me he heard the gospel message for the first time. Having always been associated with gospel teaching churches this opened my eyes to the problem. I was shocked.

Shamah,
"Doing His will is not "sin" or "breaking the Sabbath" the Spirit or intent of the Sabbath Law is indeed to do His will:"

looks like that's where we disagree

the priests were serving in the temple
which was God's will

and Jesus said that in so doing they break the Sabbath

the pharisees accused Yahshua of breaking the Sabbath by His actions, He likened His actions to the priests in the "breaking" maybe you don't understand Jesus properly? DO you believe the sinless and spotless Lamb of YHWH can actually sin and "it's OK because He's God" He was comparing His work to the priests work on the Sabbath calling it "transgression" anyone that consults all the Sabbath Scriptures and the works of the priesthood knows doing Yah's work is not transgression but what THE PURPOSE OF THE Sabbath is for. Do you not understand the pharisees made 1,000s of their own laws not in the "OT"? Many of which were man made Sabbath "laws"?

But you are free to see it the way you want, so explain to me how He sinned yet was the sinless Lamb?

really....

yeah the man made law is wrong:

Mat 15:3-9, “But He answering, said to them, “Why do you also transgress the command of YHWH because of your tradition? For YHWH has commanded, saying, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated, is certainly released from respecting his father or mother.’ So you have nullified the command of YHWH by your tradition."Hypocrites! Well did Isayah (29:13-14*) prophesy of you, saying: These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

the pharisees added hundreds of man made regulations to the Sabbath... they are worthless, only what YHWH says matters...

John 7:16-17, "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching, whether it comes from YHWH, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

John 7:16-17, "...he will know about this teaching, whether it comes from YHWH, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

Mat 12:12, "And how much more valuable is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is Lawful to do righteousness on the Sabbath."

Walk trough the valley
"Striving about the law is unprofitable and vain," you will not be leading by example: to walk in love, while striving about the law. You also make us very thankful we are not under the law but under God's influence: "We have died with Christ," "A dead man is free from sin."

But my dear friend...we are not supposed to stay dead....we are to rise again with Christ to NEW LIFE ! this time to be OBedient to God and DO HIS Will !!! the old man who was DISibedient (did not keep God's Commands has died and must stay dead). THAT IS CONVERSION !!!

If two laws contradict, then one is wrong.
God's laws never conflict but often man made one's do. I had a friend that was in charge of a school district. With federal state, and county laws with different agencies at each level he was confronted with contradictory laws at each level. He had to pick and choose which laws he followed and ignored.
