1 Corinthians 2:
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
What are your thoughts on this section?
This is why I very much apply the value that's in systematic study:
Ephesians 2:11-13
11 Wherefore remember, that
ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:
13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Being made nigh was the mystery that the princes of this world did not foresee as the result of their actions and the fall of Israel. Gentiles no longer had need to join with the commonwealth of Israel to be made nigh unto Christ Jesus because:
Romans 11:11-12
11 I say then, Have they
stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but
rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and
the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
The restoration of Israel is indeed the high point of God's plans for Israel and the kingdom promised to them, but for Gentiles it is great also, and that the princes would never have crucified the Lord of Glory had they known that the far greater population of the world would have access to salvation apart from the minority (in number) population of Israel, that is a remarkable revelation indeed.
