I just sent you a PM. You know exactly where I am coming from. Make it clear what you mean by that verse. If you are suggesting that what is from God is not from God, then you are in grave danger.
No offense intended mam, but are you bullying her? You are taking her to task and publicly calling attention to it.

Hi,
I am absolutely not bullying her. I am urging her to not to suggest that what is from God is not from God. I believe that to do so is a grave sin. As my sister in Christ, I am merely warning her. I am doing what my other sister suggested I do -- walk away and pray.

It's okay. May God bless her with discernment Spirit. I do not disrespect my elders.

Hi Therapon,
I just want to throw this out here:
Two nights ago I was praying asking God for direction and He answered me by giving me a scripture verse that spoke directly to me (He has been doing this A LOT lately). I was obedient and God was faithful! God IS faithful! And I have never worn a head covering, yet God is doing AMAZING things in my life!
Professor, the head covering is for when in church only.
you do not need to wear one outside church.

you are a new believer, and if you have not been prompted into this yourself by the Lord, no one ought to be hassling you over it.

take it easy and just study the passages and do as the Spirit leads.
the veil is for in church.

if other women are going on about their obedience in wearing the veil they already have their reward, dear.

Blessing and Peace

I respect that, and I've seen evidence of that throughout this post. Everyone who has taken a contrary view to yours, regardless of how vehemently opposed they were to what you said, has taking umbrage with the issue, not the original poster. I've found it encouraging. Although I must admit the name calling did make me cringe a bit.

Now however I read: "I don't know what you are trying to tell me sister, but if you are suggesting what I think you might be, I caution you." This looks to me like a veiled (please excuse the pun) threat. Then I read: "I just sent you a PM. You know exactly where I am coming from. Make it clear what you mean by that verse. If you are suggesting that what is from God is not from God, then you are in grave danger." I don't know how to read that as anything but a threat. The target of these sentences is not your post, it is you.

True, I just got here, and taking this stand could have me banned (which I accept as due punishment if it comes to that) and this is just my opinion, but I don't think anyone should be threatened because someone else takes offense with what they say.

I have never myself or heard from anyone else about involving Angels in there. Please shed light on that area :)
THANK YOU!
My understanding is that Angels honor God and His order.
Head coverings were for a woman to show her submission.
Nothing about her looks or any of that.
Pauls allusion here was to imply that angels would be offended.

For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.1 cor 11:10

This is how my pastor dodged the bullet when I asked her this question like many years ago :) It did shut me up for a while but that constant conflict, inside, always remained.
Hi savedNblessed. I can't help but notice this:

You have a "constant conflict, inside" about head coverings, yet no conflict at all about sitting under a woman pastor???

Isn't the head covering passage all about headship? I won't debate here exactly what it means -- a physical covering showing that headship, or hair being the "covering" to show that headship, or if it means something else. But if you're so convicted about covering your head -- which is supposed to show headship and women being under authority, not in authority -- but have no conviction about sitting under a woman pastor in authority over all the men in the church, then aren't you kinda straining a gnat and swallowing a (nicely adorned) Indian camel? :D

Ohhhhhhhhhhh my bad! Okay your statement makes more sense now. :)

And it makes more sense that a woman pastor would "dodge" passages about women being under authority, like you said. Now your post makes sense to me.

(By the way I'm not saying the passage means to wear a covering or not wear a covering. I was just responding to one particular thing.)

The bravest most spiritual woman I ever knew was Corrie Ten Boom. Here she is telling her story to Kathryn Kuhlman. Corrie Ten Boom did not wear a piece of cloth on her head in church.

Of course, but now that the head-covering command has been brought to your attention, you are responsible for it. If you watch your future spiritual life with an open heart, you will find that to be true.

I understand and thank you for your kindness. Despite some comments to the contrary, I haven't been attacking anyone. The verses I quoted are in the Bible and we either obey them or not, that's our choice, but in a way they determine what kind of servants we are. The worst enemy of a true walk with the Lord is self will. The Bible says, "we are bought with a price" so we are supposed to belong to the Lord. In otherwords, He owns us and our lives are actually not our own anymore.

What I have been sharing on this thread was common knowledge in the church when I was a kid. My Mother, grandmother and every other Christian woman I knew, covered her head when praying and absolutely when they were in Church. So has the Word of God changed? Of course not, but the Church certainly has and a humble reverence for every jot and tittle of God's word is gone.

The result? We were once the richest country on the globe, a Christian lighthouse to the rest of the world. Now we are a debtor nation and the filth we spread abroad through our movies and prrnographic industry has made us worse than the nations that surround us.

If you look around with an open heart, the Holy Spirit shows you that judgment is coming on our land. In fact, it has already begun. It's our fault and I include myself, but will we repent, naw! We'll just debate a little more on whether God's word actually means what it says.

And it was all because of that piece of cloth on their head. Worked like magic. Lolol...
